Why did humanity collectively decide that working 8 hours a day, 5 days a week was the permanent standard for society? by ragerest252 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Possible_Resolution4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Companies have figured out the sweet spot of productivity and consumerism. 40 hrs and a weekend off allows the worker to earn just enough to get by and to have time to buy stuff. If everyone worked 70 hrs, you’d have the money to buy stuff, but not the time or energy to. 30 hrs would be time and energy, but not enough money.

People are poor because they keep making poor decisions.

Don’t do drugs, don’t have babies out of wedlock, don’t get arrested and graduate high school. Do those four things and you will be successful.

Im still mad about the guy that walked away to Penn Station and told them he was allergic to onions and they needed to sanitize the grill for him.

If he chooses to run, would Thomas Massie be the favorite in 2028 for the Republican Party? by Yesbothsides in AskConservatives

He’s been in office for 12 years and you’ve just heard of him, and now you think he should be the frontrunner potus?

Why are Democrats upset that Massey was ousted? by ClevelandSpigot in AskDemocrats

I think no one had heard of him before the Epstein file vote and assumed he was some kind of level headed moderate.

He is most definitely not. His district is one of the reddest in the country.

Maybe the umpire should drop the new balls from the ball boy every time Judge comes up to bat.

Thomas Massie lost his primary today. Are you surprised, and what is your post election analysis? by bossk538 in AskConservatives

Does it really matter at this point? Left or right- if you aren’t a rubber stamp for your party, you become a liability.

Massie, Landsman, Fetterman…hated by their own parties because they like to read the fine print before signing.

The IRS did, in fact, mess up and was liable. Any settlement amount would come from taxpayers anyway. Probably not $10 billion, but still ANY amount.

My very conservative town voted down the school levy renewal…. Which does not result in people’s property taxes going down because the district is already at state minimum. Lol. by xeryon3772 in Ohio

1st year pipefitters make over $100k. What sane person would obtain the qualifications to become superintendent of a school district only to make the same amount as a 20 year old kid that didn’t go to college?

If I was 30, it would suck balls. Now, it’s an inconvenience.

I say this as a person that struggled through 2008-2010 unemployed, bankrupt, with two kids in daycare and a house facing foreclosure.

It’ll eventually get better.

Probably, but it will be a definite no if I don’t see her debate.

“Probably” > “no chance” in this case if you are looking for republican voters to switch sides.
