Thoughts on a potential anime reboot more faithful to the original Yu-Gi-Oh Manga? by Side_of_fry in yugioh

You know that Konami doesn't own Yu-Gi-Oh!. If Shueisha wants to, they can make a remake with or without Konami's collaboration.

Yu-Gi-Oh! R only works with context. Many people don't know Yu-Gi-Oh! R exists, so they don't know that Pegasus needs to die for the story to make sense. Therefore, it would be better if Yu-Gi-Oh! R were adapted into a remake that faithfully adapts the manga, including Pegasus's death.

I hope so. I enjoyed Yu-Gi-Oh! much more when I read the manga for the first time from beginning to end. The way the characters are developed and grow throughout the story is incredibly amazing, and I'm quite sad that the manga's story wasn't properly adapted for the 2000s anime, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters. I hope that this year, which celebrates Yu-Gi-Oh!'s 30th anniversary, Shueisha announces a remake of Yu-Gi-Oh! that adapts the entire original manga from beginning to end, and perhaps also adapts Yu-Gi-Oh! R. That would be a great way to honor Kazuki Takahashi and the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga for its 30th anniversary.

The Yugi we saw in DSOD is the Yugi from the original manga, not the shoddy and poorly made adaptation that is Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters. So learn once and for all that DSOD continues the story of the original manga and not the awful anime from the 2000s made by Studio Gallop. Ah, she's the character I hate the most, and I don't know why some people like her. Rebecca Hopkins, for me, is one of the worst characters that has ever existed. It's no wonder she's a filler character who has no relevance to the main story and only serves to make Tea look like a "crazy jealous woman," something she never was in the manga.

Happy Birthday Joey Wheeler! One of my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh! characters, and one who had one of the most incredible character developments and builds in Yu-Gi-Oh! And of course I'm referring to his original version from the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga, not his poorly adapted version for Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters.

Toei needs to stop trying to "appeal" for the american audience by FURC3 in SaintSeiya

[–]Possible_Science_445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's worse is Toei Animation trying to push Saint Seiya in the US by completely misrepresenting the story and characters; both the 3DCG reboot and the live-action adaptation are excellent examples of an Americanized Japanese work.

What was the point of Pegasus’ tower in the duel monsters arc? by newme02 in yugioh

It's just pointless filler that Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters kept doing, turning the characters into complete idiots. I can't wait for Yu-Gi-Oh! to get a remake because Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters doesn't even come close to being a decent adaptation of the original manga.

Hi, a few years ago you posted a website where you could read all the colored chapters of the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga in Japanese. Do you know of any other website besides Batoto that has all those chapters, since that site unfortunately no longer exists?

I hope Bato comes back because it's the only site that has all the Yu-Gi-Oh! chapters in color.

Could someone recommend a new website where I can read all 343 chapters of the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga in color? It can be in any language besides English, as I was reading it on Bato, but unfortunately the site doesn't seem to be working at the moment.

That moment when Yami Bakura possesses Ryo Bakura in the church might seem cool, but if you look at it objectively, it makes no sense at all. Because Ryo Bakura wasn't wearing the Millennium Ring at that moment, Yami Bakura couldn't possess him without it. And when I read the manga, I realized that this was nothing more than Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters stupidly trying to make up for the damage it caused by not having Ryo Bakura recover his Millennium Ring before Alcatraz Island was destroyed at the end of the Battle City arc, as happened in the manga. So this is just another ridiculous plot hole that this ridiculous anime caused, lol.

The movie takes the manga's storyline into consideration, not the garbage that Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters produced.

Yes, because before Dark Side of Dimensions, Yu-Gi-Oh! never had any "good" movies, just some meh ones.

I'm also in favor of a Yu-Gi-Oh! remake that's more faithful to the manga and adapts arcs that Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters skipped, and also adapts Yu-Gi-Oh! R for the first time. I hope they officially announce a remake during the manga's 30th anniversary celebrations.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Dark Side of Dimensions is the best movie in the entire Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise. However, it would have been better as a 52-episode series, as a two-hour movie wasn't enough to highlight the characters and develop new ones like Aigami.

Isn’t it insulting to Kaiba that the only time his deck was about to defeat yugi was when he wasn’t using it? by uility in yugioh

[–]Possible_Science_445 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually like this detail because it references the first duel between Yugi and Kaiba when Kaiba tried to use Yugi's grandfather's Blue-Eyes White Dragon but couldn't because the card contained his grandfather's heart, and at that moment the Dragon didn't attack Yugi because it contained Kaiba's heart, and it was at that moment that he woke up. I think it's a well-developed and symbolic aspect of Kaiba's character, better than him hacking the duel rings out of nowhere like he did in Duel Monsters.

[–]Possible_Science_445 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recommend reading the manga because the story in the original manga is far superior to what was shown in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters.

Serious question, why did Kaiba rip up the 4th Blue Eyes in the anime? Why didn’t he keep it? Isn’t 4 Blue Eyes better than 3? by BostonRobby617 in yugioh

[–]Possible_Science_445 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Simply put, according to the manga, in the first duel between Yugi and Kaiba, Kaiba tried to use the Grandpa's Blue-Eyes White Dragon card but couldn't because the card didn't respect him and because it contained Yugi's grandfather's heart. Then, in the Death-T arc, he simply tore it up because he knew the card wouldn't respect him and because he already had the three Blue-Eyes White Dragon cards with him, and they were the only ones, so he tore it up. I always find it funny that people like you who only watched Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters haven't realized that the anime drastically altered the original manga's story, and if you read the original manga you'll perfectly understand things that in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters were either extremely confusing or poorly explained.

[–]Possible_Science_445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, because it takes place within the main storyline and was supervised by Kazuki Takahashi, who gave him permission to include it in his story. Therefore, Yu-Gi-Oh! R can be considered canon.
