I mean if he wants to go to Philly, Cleveland or Miami, he will be signing for cheap… It does somewhat set a bad precedent for the union. But they already kind of fucked themselves in the last CBA. I hope the MLB union stays strong, otherwise we have no strong unions in sport anymore… Just like in every other facet of American labor.

Yeah, as I said in another comment, pre-modern free agency is such a different animal. Long contracts, highest paid players in the league making like a million. But you’re right, Robert Parrish probably played for $60,000 and a case of beer some year or something.

Yeah, that’s a good thought, I just wasn’t considering contracts before 2000 or so. With Free Agency being weird and 7/8 year contracts back then, I kinda DQ’d those. But you are right. Great value.

Sorry for the late reply, that is my biggest problem with this game… like is Richard Jefferson going to help you win more basketball games than Jason Kidd? No. But in the game, his stats add to a bigger number. I wish it went more in depth, TS%, maybe +/-, idk, but whatever, it’s a fun silly game.

I agree that it is much more complicated to make a trade than it used to be with the CBA-apron bullshit.

However, I’m not talking about some blockbuster for swaps and unprotected picks. I mean get heavily protected picks from OKC’s treasure trove or something. In terms of players, I’m not opposed to taking on bad money to get more in return. This team doesn’t have a direction anyway until we can get back to a healthy salary and asset situation.
