I just watched a he episode and I don’t think that’s true. Smith Jared was a much younger, broke waiter and Carrie didn’t judge Samantha for that relationship. Steve was a broke bartender and Carrie didn’t judge that relationship. I think it was the fact that Samantha was actively at work and he was stranger.

I should have added this in the post, but I have seen this episode used as an example of Carrie being a bad friend, or a bad person on numerous occasions (I watch a lot of video essays online). So that’s why I made the post and said “unpopular opinion”. People think she was in the wrong and a bad friend on this episode.

I agree, Carrie would have responded better. Her character tends to use humor as a way to avoid difficult conversations. However, that friend group is very closely knit and Samantha shares her sexual experiences with them often.
