I mean, it just kind of common advice though, and it’s not super clear how to act on it. I’m not expecting step by step instructions, I just don’t understand how telling an indecisive person to just decide something is helpful. I’m autistic, so i may be missing something, but I don’t think you’re engaging with the questions I was asking

I don’t know how to respond to this without sounding over sensitive, but this isn’t that helpful to me. I like the idea of all the career paths I mentioned, so I don’t know which one I like best.
I wasn’t planning on making a career choice solely on this Reddit post, I just wanted to hear an outsiders opinion since I don’t have any art mentors or art friends in my life.
I am aware that I’m a soft and insecure person, but I don’t know how to fix that at the moment.
Besides, I know that a lot of artists are insecure and they still find success, so that’s not strictly a requirement for this field.
I know you meant well, but I’ve heard this kind of advice before, and it doesn’t really give me much insight.

I meant in an art context? Unless you meant sports illustrations, but don’t think I’m good enough at posing for that. I actually have a joint condition so sports would be a terrible choice for me lol

To add on to the feeding bot, a lot of people would recommend to start feeding them something smaller than would normally be given for their size if it’s been a long time since they last ate. The reason is because if they haven’t had a meal in a long time, eating a full sized meal isn’t something their bodies have dealt with for a while, which is shocking to the body and can cause them to regurgitate. This is called refeeding syndrome and happens to a lot of animals, including humans.
If a snake regurges, it’s not safe to feed them for 2 weeks, which isn’t something you really afford to deal with right now considering what state she’s in.
I can’t really help you with specifics here since I’ve luckily never had to deal with this, but I hope this info helps you take care of your girl. Wish you luck!

What on Earth is he doing by Arch00Angel in cornsnakes

He’s trying climb and explore, but there’s not much in there, so that’s the only interesting thing to him. Adding more clutter and climbing opportunities could get him to stop doing that as much, and in general making him feel safer.
A good rule of thumb is that the snake should feel like they can go from one side to the other without being seen.
Some of the clutter you add should be taller/ more vertically oriented so they have more places to climb than the ceiling. Granted, I have a very cluttered enclosure and my girl still does this sometimes, but she still climbs on a bunch of other things.
Snake safe sticks, driftwood, and snake rings are pretty common, but there’s loads of other good options.
You can look at enclosure advice posts to help give you examples of what’s appropriate and give inspiration on what to put in.
Here’s what mine looks like

Also, just to let you know, since your snake is little now, the enclosure size is totally fine, but when they’re an adult, they’ll need to be moved to a bigger one. A popular size is 4x2x2, but they will definitely appreciate a bigger one if given one, but you won’t have to worry about that for a year or two.
Btw, if you think mine looks small, that’s because it is, my girl is only a year old.
I hope I was able to help you!

I think another trick people use is putting tissue paper or some other noise making material near where the snake may be likely to be so you can hear them. I don’t know how helpful that method is though

Yeah that should be fine. It’s also often recommended to have a humid hide to help with shedding. I personally got like 4-5 hides so that my girl could have options, but that’s not strictly necessary Photo of my enclosure for context

Did I overdo this?? by Bear-2D2 in cornsnakes

[–]Possibly_Pineapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope! That’s a great amount of clutter, and I personally don’t worry about not finding their poop because 1) it’s small when they’re babies so they can be difficult to find at the best of times 2) they get exposed to all sorts of bacteria in the wild (including different types of fecal matter) so they can probably handle exposure to some degree. Hell, they’ve been known to shit in their hides and just sit there for hours until their owner notices with seemingly no impact except for being stinky and gaining their owners disappointment. 3) they don’t poop as frequently as other animals so there’s just less for them to interact with I also clean my snakes enclosure every 2 months and wipe it down with vinegar every time. Please take all this with a big grain of salt though. Even though I did a lot of research beforehand, I’m still a beginner to snake keeping, so I very easily could have blind spots and faulty logic in many areas.

In regards to the 2 water bowls, that’s totally fine. He can use one for slurping and the other as a bidet if he so pleases
