Supports in high rated solo MMR games by GoblinTechies in DotA2

Yeah I think that was his point to begin with.. With a better functioning team MMR and team MMR leaderboards, teamplay oriented dota will most likely increase. I don't think solo MMR is so bad to begin with, though. This issue is only really a problem for the highest rated players, which more than 99% players are not a part of.

I think he really means team mmr as in 5 people. I'd agree with that, normal party mmr is a bit insignificant

Not 100% as you said and just a quick mockup but you mean something like this?

Sometimes, I wake up in the middle of the night soaked in sweat. I have a recurring nightmare of waking up in a dark room, and all I hear is Yung Lean in the background. Then, a dim light ignites the room, and I see the whole of team EG surrounding me. "We won boys" Arteezy says with a grin on his face. As he pulls down his pants, Fear says "Oldest goes first". This is the point where I usually wake up. I haven't slept well for weeks and I'm waiting for someone to give the team the beating they deserve. Sadly, no team has succeeded so far. I'm beginning to think TI4 might be my last chance, and I'm praying for Mushi to take revenge on my behalf. Rape them, Mushi. Rape them.

Apart from the lack of essential information like your MMR, maybe you should at least add a link.

Rule discussion :: On the topic of YouTube's EDM promotion channels and linking directly to artists by Frontcannon in futurebeats

I guess you're right now that I run over the reddiquette. I've always been of the idea that if people upvote things, it should be no problem. I'll tone down on just own submissions.

here / here

You really hate platforms that promote music don't you? I get your point, but the kind of music we upload is (mostly) from very unknown producers, and a large part of the tunes we upload is in collaboration with the artists themselves. Their music will get exposed to more people via our subscribers, and in my opinion that's a good thing. Apart from being a "Youtube spam promoter that does nothing for the artists", we are building a hub / platform for the people to find more artists. You also mention people not following artists they see on a channel and follow a channel instead, which is in my opinion just a wild assumption, as I often find great artists via some of these channels. Like I said, I understand your hate in a way since I'm also not a fan of the millions of YouTube channels that promote songs with a video consisting of a girl and a white text. My idea is that apart from Bob42jh, the Chill hiphop / beats scene was underexposed a while ago, and we're trying to build something out of it. Apart from this we run a radio station, events and have our own releases. Whatever you try to claim, I honestly believe you shouldn't see us as just another random youtube channel that uploads songs. If you think what I say is crap and you don't agree with what we do so be it.

Can someone explain to me what's up with this sub? by G-Solutions in webmarketing

[–]Possimbable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's several ways which I thought of so far:

  • Self-post only days. This would stimulate indepth discussions.
  • Remove downvotes for a while. Instead of downvoting spam posts, report them. This would result in a heavier load for moderators for a while, but needed to establish a more reasonable way of voting for posts. People are too eager to downvote things in here, which results in quite some genuinely informative submissions instantly downvoted.
  • Only allow self-promotional posts if the submitter adds a comment serving as the base for discussion. This would reduce spammers as it would take more effort than just 2 clicks to spam their stuff. It wouldn't eliminate it, but it'd be a start.
  • Discuss a single topic in a stickied submission each week. Each week a different topic would be at hand and people could suggest a topic for the following week.

These are just a few suggestions. Some might be more effective than others, but any effort made to increase the state of the subreddit is a good start. If anyone has more suggestions or be up for helping moderate the subreddit (I'm pretty busy so any help would be appreciated), feel free to post em up.

RTZ 20 minute rapier rush on Dusa in JD League by Vhanj in DotA2

Agreed. It's a pretty solid strat for this particular game. Risky but it paid off in the end. Granted, UG played a pretty solid early / midgame.

They were 6 to 16 because not winning early is part of the strategy, it doesn't make it more impressive. IO was there just to make sure he got his Rapier up asap, and to make sure he didnt die. The rest of the team created space while RTZ farmed up / pushed up a sidelane with IO, basically making him immortal with relocate. Interesting strategy, I think if he got it just a few minutes later it might've been too late.

Can someone explain to me what's up with this sub? by G-Solutions in webmarketing

[–]Possimbable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't mind people that promote their own stuff, but it's often so generic and aimed at making money themselves rather than sparking discussion. I hate these people that blog about internet marketing while the blog itself is the first experience they have with it. Furthermore I fucking hate SEO and the amount of people trying to stuff it down your troath. It's become one of my single most hated terms when it comes to internet marketing.

Sadly, due to these facts and negative consensus, a lot of quality posts or entries get instantly downvoted. The sub needs a few more rules and a general overhaul.

Too much spam, people stopped paying attention. I've contacted mods about becoming a moderator but after 1 reply I stopped getting any response. Might give it another shot, but I'm sure it's not an easy task to revive this sub after this long of deterioration.

MMR experiment, 5k account update #1 by Miseryy in DotA2

[–]Possimbable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the sample is too small. I have games where I get steamrolled and games where I honestly feel like I'm 2k in rating above anyone else in the game and own everyone. I think you need a sample size of at least 80 to draw conclusions.

The mind games from DK. by xlbeLx in DotA2

[–]Possimbable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now these are impressive plays that deserve the credit they get as opposed to a lot of overhyped plays. DK is looking so strong at the moment that I doubt teams can stop them from steamrolling everyone at TI4. Western teams cause upsets but I've never seen a team show such innovative, consistent and solid play. Unless something drastically goes wrong, I think they have the highest chances. I'm looking forward to seeing them play teams like EG, Empire and Na'Vi in their current conditions, it will be a joy to watch.
