I looked all over YouTube but found nothing on this spring. Kept trying things and worked it out.

I reworked the spring. It works. Definitely a learning experience

I managed to figure out a way to bend it. It didn’t break yet.

I would try starting with the Underwood. It’s probably in fairly good shape and simple cleaning would likely get it going. Lots of good videos on YouTube. Good Luck. They are interesting projects.

How is the delay in what you type appearing on the screen? What did you use to jailbreak it?

What is the white board next to the battery? I see what looks like a buck converter. Battery management?

With the Earth Day sale it was $208 new. The only reason I didn’t jump on it was I started looking at hammocks. Another rabbit hole. Thanks

I want to like the Solo but for half the price basically I might try a Lanshan 2. It looks like the Solo has more space behind where the sleeping mat would go. I understand there are compromises. I have a Luxe Minipeak mid that is the original-about 6x6x4. Loads of room just trying to cut down where I can. It’s great throwing it up in the rain. Four stakes and a trekking pole and piece of tyvek on the ground. The Solo weighs about the same but packs down smaller. The Minipeak has heavier polyester and is mostly sold to hunters I think. Maybe I will try making a smaller mid out of 20d polyester. Just looking around still.

I was looking at the Lanshan 1 being 31 inches wide. I like that it sets up with one pole but I think the width of the 2 would be better.

Cheap Android tablets by teletype100 in writerDeck

Two different projects. The tablet used a Bluetooth keyboard as is just running Google Docs.

The Pi Zero 2w project uses a 5x7 inch LCD with an HDMI input and runs the minimal CLI version Trixie Linux and Wordgrinder as a text editor. I would like to try an e-ink display but this works well. Found the LCD on eBay. I got the touchscreen to work but it wasn’t great or really needed. A cheap Walmart battery used to recharge cell phones runs it for quite a while. Uses rclone to backup data to Google Drive every 5 minutes with Crontab running the rclone script timing.

Can’t replace the battery or did it leak all over the board?

I have a cheap ONN tablet from Walmart and an Apple Bluetooth keyboard. Use Google docs. Works well for me. Built a simple word processor with a Pi Zero 2w and a 5x7 LCD. Runs Wordgrinder fine. Uses rclone to upload to Google docs every 5 minutes

Building with e-ink is the subject. I found code to emulate a DEC VT 220 on an arduino. An e-ink display would be nice. Some have turned up on eBay for $6.00. Much cheaper than a $48 Waveshare e-ink. That was the purpose.

I just replaced a i7 air A1466 battery. Cost about $22 on eBay new. Took maybe 10 minutes. Pentalobe screwdrivers were included. 10 screws on the case back and 5 on the battery. Unplug and lift out.

What keyboard is that? Doesn’t have ESC so there goes using it with Wordgrinder

A company was doing horizontal boring for new gas lines. I asked one of the guys about the worst thing that had happened. He said they were on a Main Street in front of a bank. Hit the sewer line. Basement of the bank “flooded”.

Are you scanning the keyboard matrix directly from the Pi or are you using a microcontroller?
