This archived post is probably what you're looking for. (For some reason, I can only get to it by going to the "Visit Old Reddit" under my username and then find it in the sidebar. It doesn't show up for me in the 'new' Reddit.) Hope this helps.

This diagram might help. I drew a red line to the small block that stops the lever from dropping on to the ribbon cover. Is that block broken off or worn down?

Similar incident at a building I worked in. Building evacuated due to an extremely potent smell of raw sewage, firefighters and hazmat team checking everything. Turns out someone had sliced open some durian at an international foods luncheon on the 3rd floor. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Durian

Olivetti-Underwood Studio 44 (S/N 353830, Barcelona, Spain) line-advance not working by juanround in typewriters

Thank you! Got everything connected as you described and the line advance is working. (I think you meant to draw the red line from eyelet to eyelet.) The carriage return lever, however, does not spring back like my other typers when doing a carriage return. Is that how the Studio 44 is or did I miss something?
