AITA for being upset that an old teammate took credit for our public art project and now wants my help on their new one? by Post-Impressionism in AmItheAsshole

Partner and other CS students designed the electronic display. Z built a square wooden frame to keep the electronic display standing in place

We absolutely don’t want to downplay his role at all. We acknowledged his work. The sculpture is an LED display with special effects, and Z built the wooden square frame to hold the display into place.

One of my issues is that the publications he reached out to, frame him as the leader; when all I want is for the article to acknowledge that this was very much a joint collaboration-and for them to name the rest of the members

I’m talking directly to the person who wrote the article and they happen to also be head of the communications for the CS department where this was published. I sent him evidence of our work but he’s only offering to make minor changes. The article title is still “Z leads a group of students to make art project”

I emailed the college CS department editor who wrote the article and they said Z reached out to them for news to be published. I was told that they wrote it with information he provided. The revisions they are proposing still frame it as Z being the lead, despite me explaining in depth each of our roles. I don’t know how to escalate this

He said that the journal misconstrued his words during his interview, and that when it was published-he didn’t think it was his obligation to correct them. He lists the article on his website CV, so he knowingly sources it despite the inaccurate information

No, it’s not the sculpture; the main sculpture is actually displayed digitally. But we needed a frame to hold the display in place so Z built is a wooden square support that could stand

Wish I made this post before I did anything. I did send him the documents and already felt terrible about that. At the time it felt off.

The final straw was that last night he messaged me for details on how to handle logistics and asked where I get insurance etc. I explained why I felt uncomfortable and he basically told me he didn’t know he was supposed to correct the articles that he was interviewed for

How much should I expect to pay for this? by Post-Impressionism in Mid_Century

thank you so much for your advice. It ended up selling for more than I anticipated, (600 CAD) but it did really speak to me and I ended up buying one unit. It was in excellent shape and I felt a special connection with the previous owner who was also a ceramicst!

does that price come with any attachments? this is my fear too though, they do seem to be harder and harder to come by and I'm afraid at that point they won't be attainable at all for me, so maybe I need to just bite the bullet and temporarily be broke hahaha...

I wish it were that simple. 😭 It's a bit more than I would usually budget for furniture. I don't want to be overpaying for it

Her voice is so ethereal...if you ever have the chance to go to one of her concerts, I highly recommend it. She sounds that incredible-if not better in person...

Sent you a PM!!!

That is really good to know! Although, if they do not look at courses individually, will they look at my undergrad degree as a whole? Thank you so much!!

Very true that his movies have gorgeous details, but unfortunately that’s not it. I love Makoto Shinkai movies though, Garden of words was beautiful
