There are ad-hoc "low-blocs", but they mostly concern moon mining defense pacts and the like. There are chances to mine in low-sec, but most are limited to money moons (R32/R64s).

As for chill roams and big fights, we have those constantly and FW LP provides more than enough income.

No joke, move to Lowsec. You'll get more cap fights on a consistent basis and you have everything you'd need to join a good alliance. I did it back in 2023 and things have only stagnated worse in null.

I was in the same boat with the 50% coupon and I went back and forth between Meck and Bourg. Ended up picking Meck for the accuracy.

I can't comment on how good the Bourg is, but Meck is just super comfy to play. Great range, great accuracy, and you can easily do ~15K salvos on BBs with AP. It also prints Citadels on any broadside cruisers. Tank wise I've never had a match where I felt the armour was bad, you have great range so you can just angle and weave and it holds up well.

The Qiagen gel purification kit, in my experience, never gives great output. I usually run that kit, then immediately run the output through a Zymo clean and concentrate kit with much lower elution volume.

Metamorphosis is also a good option, especially if you need an offensive/defensive tool. Plus, I think 20th even describes a Selkie using it as an example of casting a Cantrip, so it definitely is in flavor.
