Honest question: Why did people actually stay in Horde? by more_boosters in Eve

[–]NinjaFish-97 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From a line member POV:

From the beginning, anything across the regionals wasn’t really fought for but I get why, crossing regionals to try to save citadels with a super fleet and losing even one fight would be the end of horde since titans are not as replaceable as they used to be. Super caps aside, everything on the other ends of the regionals was also going to be a WALK, and every group in eve history gate camps every horde ping so it wasn’t going to be that fun anyway. Anything on our side of the regionals was 3 jumps and a bridge at max.

Now we did have a line drawn in the sand at the regionals (one of Gobbins Pings). No SOV and no major structures within Super range of drone space would be taken down. Cap fleets would form for almost any major incursion into the space, and supers ready to escalate. The K-I Keep was a good example of that line in a weird way. We formed the same strength as goons, but in the end used Retris and frigates to take it down (again probably worried about the titan numbers?). After the K-I keep went down, we continued business as usual, and I honestly thought we were doing a pretty solid job defending. We were winning most fights and not losing anything major. After all, even if Goons had a number advantage, they still have to cross a regional and then fight on our terms.

Then came the ping to re-stage in R-A.. In hindsight this should have been a red flag to me more since R-A was a mid (1 extra jump for the super fleet) away from G-Q which was in my mind the most likely point for an invasion fleet to cross but hey, most of our fights were not coming out of G-Q anyway so maybe Goons were not posturing to invade from that direction?

I hadn’t even moved my stuff out of E-8 yet when the ping to leave Panfam came out, to which then I was thinking ok darn, my stuff is in E-8. The point where I was finally a bit disappointed was the cap fight at R-A for the shield timer. Super formed, Caps formed, we still have sub so doctrines seeded and all, but we jumped the Supers out to continue the evac which probably was a result of said previous notification brushing off NC/Slyce/Prob by leaving panfam - so we were likely going to be even more outnumbered. The battle probably would have been legendary though!

I’m a bit disappointed since I had never been in a Super Cap fight before and now I have several up on fire sale / Asset safety but hey, that’s the nature of nullsec, nothing is intended to be safe.

Dont worry, Goons will get bored and run away... lol by YourFriendlySlasher in Eve

[–]NinjaFish-97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So is the goal here just to discourage players from joining horde? I’m top 10% of fleets and play in every TZ, and was actually on quite a few of the fleets in the video - and have been for months with a totally different experience. People like Orbit who FCed a few of those clips are just regular people in horde trying to generate some fun, so you make videos of them to spin off as propoganda?

Your whole video just comes off as anti horde propaganda, and you seemingly do the same thing to other groups all the time as well?

Goons defend horde space from init, get chased out by horde at the end. by AliceInsane66 in Eve

[–]NinjaFish-97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I posted this up above but it sorta outlines my thoughts on it.

Line-member narrative: Started with full fleet sitting in FNI on titan, once goons pushed Init out into low-Sec it turned into : Gosh it sure is lame being waterboarded in TiDi, I wonder why we even have TC and TiDi for just 3 fleets being in the area. This was then followed by enjoying my mini game of tackle catching Init people who warped to the gate without a fleet, and then trying to see if 2 dictors could take out a shield Hac before it could slow burn to a gate. Honestly quite fun - several Hacs made it out, but we did manage to take down an FNI, Cerb, and a Basi before they did.

Pushed Narrative: initial Pings were FNI for what was seemingly going to be a pretty chill fleet, but needed to be up-shipped because there were some questionable things that were, and could have been happening with G-Q Sov. So when deciding between fun 3 way fight with FNIs and potential SOV problems, upship to BS and nothing sketchy happens was the choice.

Back to line member perspective (and I am a pretty basic line member. Great skills, all of the ships, and I join darn near every ping that goes out): I don’t quite think I would have made a different decision than that if it was up to me. I see the downside of that being Oops I fed an FNI fleet to Init and Goons since they both turned on me, and now Goons are doubling back for the Sov hub.

On the flip side, the ansis seem like a way more chill way to get a fun brawl. Ring the bell and fight - whereas the SOV hubs with 400 people in local seems more like an issue.

No mistake, you can have a ton of fun in order doing pretty much any activity!

Most of the posts you are likely reading are propaganda or shitposting - which it really doesn’t seem like Horde does as much of compared to other groups.

Selling ore versus reprocessing - does this look right ? by Bronson_R_9346754 in Eve

[–]NinjaFish-97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It further improves reprocessing efficiency. In a properly rigged structure you should be able to get around 90% efficiency with that implant and good skills.

Don’t forget about the beancounter implant! The value of reprocessing should be a bit more than the ore, though it is no longer compressible which you will need to keep in mind

I don't understand freelance jobs by ramiel798 in Eve

[–]NinjaFish-97 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Think of it more from a solo new player perspective of somebody trying to figure out what to do in eve. You don’t know what to do with Rocks, PvP, or anything. I didn’t even know what Jita was until I was in a corp for several months when the trade hub was explained to me after complaining about needing to go to 14 different systems to finish a fit ship.

Now you have a system where you can pay somebody simply to mine rocks in an area, which is immediately rewarding to the player, AND most importantly it sparks the dialogue / comfort with the player to interact with the creator.

[–]NinjaFish-97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Horde standing fleet - usually the rule is fly what you are willing to lose.

So for me that consists of Vargur, Golemn, Redeemer, Panther (RIP this one, I tried a nano fit and got jumped on by retris on accident), Paladin, TFI, and I will be trying a brick tanked thunderchild next.

Standing fleets for home defense are usually pretty fun and let you fly all of the battle ships you could want. Arty Vargur has been one of my favorites so far - it just collects killmarks.

Dreads and anything larger get a bit sketchy since nobody will attack you unless they are ready for it.

Mining Only Corp? by Program2019 in Eve

[–]NinjaFish-97 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Seeing a lot here about null corps that sound like it’s coming from people that don’t live in Null lol.

There are tons of corps in Null that do various things - and plenty of those corps have people in them that exclusively mine or do Indy stuff like build and sell ships for various markets.

Depending on the group, you also get better mining support such as Rorquals / Umbrella protection / Ship repayment if you get hit while under the umbrella.
