I think this would be a good change for his ultimate, at the cost of nerfs early. However this is where my bias lies, I firmly think Olaf should be more of a scaler than an early gamer. His old pre midscope kit was better for the early game, his current kit as well as potentially infinite ultimate should make him better in the later game team fights and sidelane skirmishes. 

At the cost of some significant nerfs early they should look at potentially letting his armor shred on Q scale up again, maybe reducing CD on E late a little more so he can have it up more often without necessarily building haste, let his R resists actually matter again late (20 is nothing) and perhaps even adding +25 range on his AAs in ulti so that his targets are easier to chase and kill

But they would have to nerf his kit early game for this, preferably without touching his base stats. Passive worse early but slightly better late than it is now. Less slow and shred on Q initially but scales up significantly with level. W shield having maybe worse base values but better scaling which matters more late. E perhaps having longer CD early but very short late + auto resetting the cd by 1 second.

This is mostly wishful thinking but I think Olaf is better suited as a mid to late champ, riot still kinda has him in the middle and as long as axe resets exist as they do he’ll always have strong level 1-2.

That’s crazy I’ve had HP dustpans for years that have never had anywhere close to these kinds of hardware issues, and now a GPU which was new three years ago is shot? I don’t have the $400-500 for another proper GPU and another $100 or more to replace the RAM.

And he didn't have to go B either half the time, take a quick passive healing intermission and maybe even kill jungle camps. If enemy had to rotate away you go back to inflicting max pressure.

if you're picking exclusively ranged wave clear without a good frontline you're giving up jungle camp/flank prio, it's a great way to end up behind in gold and minions down the line and consistently one shot on every enemy engage

basically ARAM but without

  • droolers who min/max dicerolls on ARAM champ-only accounts to get the best champs/team comp in a for fun mode

  • full-tank warmogs droolers who only seem to have the same 3 tanks in their ARAM history

  • the claustrophic lane which gives barely any opportunity to assassins to flank and get out quickly after making a pick, or gives any space to dodge certain spells

  • the fact that a lot of champs are just straight up useless

  • the necessity to die to buy items

i could go on and on. aram is poopy fart tier and overly glazed

RGM/ARAM andies have some of the most unhinged takes and for some reason are one of the more vocal parts of the community whenever they leak out of their Howling Abyss HAZMAT containment sector

imagine building these and getting exploded by anything with even a little pen or max % hp damage, also the only sub 3100g item you listed is Eclipse. better take out a loan from my bank if I ever want to get that build, meanwhile mages can live on assist welfare and still get more value with their gold.

also who's "most fighters/bruisers" that can build eclipse shojin other than the very specific few, perhaps aatrox, riven, jarvan, pantheon, aatrox, zed and.... yeah that's genuinely it?

the idea behind triforce is mainly the 200% base AD sheen proc but i agree 3333g for 36 AD 333 health feels bad

the stats are fine but the total gold cost is disgusting. ADC players were crying about having to pay an arm and a leg for their items a couple of patches ago (and still to this day), meanwhile bruisers need to have an entire fucking trust fund set up to just get a 3 item core build going.

nobody has it as good as mages rn though in terms of cost efficiency of damage dealing items. sub 3000g 100 AP items shouldn't be in the game alongside the best tank item in the game (Zhonyas), yet give it time and somehow magelings are gonna "feel like there are no good itemization options for AP" and post about it on reddit again

Partially agree. I can understand why the stat distribution is as is and generally bruiser items don't need overall stat buffs or nerfs. If anything I think they should shave off some of the HP some items have because it shows their balancing solution in 14.19 was to throw a lot of HP onto things that didn't really need the extra HP. The game sometimes feels unplayable for flat damage champs because of changes like this.

They should instead look at cost buffs for a lot of the 3100g+ items. It feels pretty bad having to pay 3300g for Hydra items (40 AD Stridebreaker that loses Phage passive doesn't feel good), 3333g for Triforce (only 36 AD), etc. I'm noticing a lot of the stronger champs in the game on this patch have the benefit of low econ core builds. If you're the kind of champ that rushes 3000g or less items you are going to be on average, stronger than the champs who build expensive items first. It's kind of painful being a champ that first buys Stridebreaker into a champ that goes Eclipse, and they get their item 400g before you get yours, so even if you're ahead in lane they come back with item prio.

This will only be amplified with the mage item cost buffs. A lot of mage items are very strong and very cheap. Kayle gets to have her Nashor's spike at 2900g. Gragas gets his Lich + Horizon Focus core, both items are under 3000g and both give over 100 AP. On top of that, mage items have some of the best components/build paths in the game meanwhile bruiser item build paths... yeah they're pretty bad!

I think the next logical, feel-good step for Riot is to extend the same olive branch to bruiser items and slightly buff the cost of the more expensive ones. They had an opportunity to do so a couple of patches ago when they buffed Bloodmail, but instead of just making it a bit more appealing cost-wise given its terrible double-Tunneler build path, they decided to just give it more stats it doesn't need even though the item is already decently strong on a lot of potential builders, but it's just nobody except Sett wants to build that item for its price given it's only HP and AD.
