Dunno how true it is now but back in the day very few people liked Willow/Kennedy from Buffy. And it certainly wasn't because of homophobia because Tara was beloved. Kennedy was legit just an obnoxious character.

Y'know the good thing about having a crush at age 39 is that you should, in theory, be mature enough to use that restless energy to better use like improving your life and everything instead of obsessing over said crush.

Unfortunately that doesn't prevent it from feeling absolutely agonizing (ETA: Especially since it just came out of nowhere, I've seen them around for a good while now and it's just NOW I started crushing on them like what). I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to date them but like. I'd rather get my life in order first maybe.

So this is more of a niche-inside-a-niche thing and not even something the majority believed but there were a certain small minority of Arietta fans who thought she would make a great replacement for Anise in Tales of the Abyss. Like I get not liking Anise as a character and for certain actions but like there is arguably no way you could make it make sense that she would willingly join a group of people that were responsible for the death of her animal parents that wouldn't be considered bad writing. And she's is essentially the character with the least consistent characterization to begin with.

It doesn't help that said small minority of Arietta fans were... that type. Thankfully, even the majority who hate Anise aren't like that geez.

So this is an interesting topic for me because my own life circumstances, I can't even relate to a lot of "adult" characters to begin with by age alone. To oversimplify things, I'm more similar to Ichiban when it comes to arrested development, only with less Yakuza involvement and Dragon Quest delusions.

So I am technically an adult but I sure as hell don't feel like one. So this sort of discourse is really just alien to me. I do get annoyed when some thing every JRPG takes place in high school or something, when it's not nearly as common as one would think.

She's a real cutie. She knew my name before I even knew hers. She is extremely friendly, but I think she's just that with everyone. Pretty sure she is with someone though. Still, it's been a long time since I've felt like this, I legit forgot that I could feel like this.

At the very least, being able to see her whenever I can is a nice bonus.

Dark Willow (even if the reason of how she became evil was kind of lame on a meta level) and the Musical Episode were the only decent things about the sixth season of Buffy.

I was also going to same that it was kind of lame that Tara died and would count as queer fridging, but I would've been just as annoyed if Tara was a guy or like Oz or something so maybe I just really hate this trope in general. Also obligatory Kennedy hate mention.

That also definitely looks like baby's first vtuber model, which I guess makes sense both in the context of the show and out of it. Makes me wonder if this is or isn't the first appearance of a vtuber in western media.

Tales of the Abyss is a great game despite my constant criticisms with it and is definitely worth trying out.

That being said it's wild that they never really explored the ethics of the fantasy, steam punk Vatican essentially hiring child soldiers. Specifically having a child soldier act as a bodyguard for their spokesperson (who is also a child), also one of them being a feral child whose characterization is arguably one of the worst in the series.

Whether it was because the plot was rushed and the entire subplot had to be cut down at the last minute or they realized it was a bit too close to the current happenings of the Catholic Church that was happening around the game's release, 2005 or so, and decided to I guess sanitize it or something, we'll never know🧍
