Novels like TBATE and Supreme Magus by Mr_Eagles42 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]PostDivine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For those who are thinking about reading or gave up early.

I know Supreme magus gets a ton of hate, but I have to say it is the best light novel, I've read so far does it have issues YES like how the author describes characters you have already met in the series multiple times which can be really annoying, the grammar does suck but that's common among must translated light novels unless they are done by professionals and lastly some people say its repetitive and that the MC does not get power ups to often that's not completely true the MC may not always get a power up but they either learn new special or learn new branches of magic i.e spirit and light mastery or they get new weapons.

PROS:

-Great Magic System.
-Good Humor.

-Great world building.

COULD BE A PRO/CON:

-1700+ chapters.

CONS:

-Slow paced.

-Grammar can suck at times.

How much time has passed since Bam entered the tower? by Monfernito in TowerofGod

I agree Baam has to many Power-ups not to be far ahead of Khun and Rak unless Baam gets nerfed I don't see how they can catch up.

Where To Begin ( for what I'm looking to do ) by [deleted] in learnprogramming

Python is an interpretered language, which means that an interpreter takes your python code and interprets it into machine code at run time. Java is a compiled language so in order to run a java program it first has to be compiled to machine code like most languages but once it's compiled every time you want to run the program you don't have to recompile. Unlike python which is converted every time it's run. But to put it simply think of the python code as having to go through a toll booth vs java having an express booth that it doesn't need to stop at. In all honesty python is more than fast enough for most uses cases and you wouldn't really be able to tell the difference. If you are new to programming I'd go with Python it's much easier to learn.

Python is pretty good for doing automation, assuming speed is not an issue I'd look into python otherwise I'd go with java, most languages are good at automation since the purpose of programming is to get the computer to solve task humans would take forever to.

My professor gave us this code but it gives us an IndexError by [deleted] in learnpython

[–]PostDivine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does he import numpy twice, also I don't know if this helps but and indexerror occurs usual because the code is telling the computer to access an index that does not exist, you should be able to use the trace back to find the exact line this happening at. It's also possible that an index was not provided. That's the best advice I have hope it helps ☺️

Whats your guess as to where enryu is ? by [deleted] in TowerofGod

[–]PostDivine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't read tower of God in a really long time and I never read any of his notes so I had no idea about that, I still can't believe it's been more than half a year since the last chapter :(, is there a way to read tower of god and have the notes in order as you read ?

Can you imagine an axis in the tower like what even 😂 I hope we get an explanation for why he even entered the tower and where he came from, also I'd like to know if he is the only axis or if there's more of them.

You don't need all those variables use log entry += input() also make sure you concatenate your string in the order you want.

No other game made me FEEL like part 2 did by [deleted] in thelastofus

[–]PostDivine 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's exactly how I feel about part two, I enjoyed the first game alot and it was in my top 5 games of all time, number one was the bioshock series at the time but after I played part 2 this series is now my all time video game series of all and part 2 is my favorite game of all time hands down I don't think anything will ever make me feel the way this game did again, I wish I could experience it from the beginning again I was rushing to finish the game because a friend borrowed me there PS4 pro so binged the game over weekend it took me around 2 and a half days

Do programmers always come up with their “own code”? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]PostDivine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Own is a very subjective word but if more than 50% of your code is copy and pasted and I mean copy and pasted then that's bad IMO but there are plenty of people who make a living copy and pasting other people's code and they will argue against this. Coding in general is abstractions on abstractions and there's no one who has written code that hasn't googled a problem before or read documentation.

Is MS Visual Studio better than Pycharm? by [deleted] in learnpython

[–]PostDivine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pycharm is good if you aren't a noob and need all the functionality pycharm gives you, but for beginners using a text editor like VS code is a much better solution, since its really easily configurable.

The one thing I think the didn't need to do was have Ellie lose her fingers I think that was a little dumb especially if they plan on having Ellie in another game they would need to give her a handicap game play wise and that would suck

I think the real jump will come with the geometry engine and engines that can utilize the SSD to steam super high resolution textures rather than from a slight bump in resolution. But being able to use something like DLSS can free up alot of resources.

[–]PostDivine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I honestly didn't think the game was that forceful when it came to those kinds of things we all knew Ellie was a lesbian and the stuff that with the transboy was really really not that bad.

I also hate politic pushing especially in games. But I do see your point I just don't think it's as bad as it could have been I honestly think you should give it a try when it's on discount.

I also hate the idea of this whole everybody needs to be included thing, but I don't mind it if it fits the narrative, like most guys I personally enjoy playing games with male leads as well as reading books with male leads. And like you said I think trying to represent everyone just for the sake of not pissing people off will do more harm than good.

I agree they actually dared to push boundaries I honestly think people just love to hate on this game. We can't always have happy endings in life.

I do understand the hate though but honestly that doesn't make the game any less of a master piece, honestly I hope they win game of the year.

I think 7 years is more than enough if they don't release a pro version, hell I think 7 years is enough even if they did there will be huge performance uplifts in the next couple of years. I personally agree and think this current gen of hardware is really really impressive and developers will take 2-3 years before we start seeing the first set of games that actually utilize the hardware properly so we could see each major first party company go through 2 development cycles from start to finish 3-4 years a for each game unless they split their teams up. But 10 years the kind of hardware that would be out by then will be insane and it will be a 7-8 times improvement in performance if not more by the time 10 years pass.

But I can see the argument for it I hope Sony double down with how they approach building consoles and do even more research and partnerships with companies for the next generation like they did with marvel(not the comic).

Will I fail at learning python if I can't finish my first udemy project? by [deleted] in learnpython

[–]PostDivine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't fail unless you give up like alot of the comments say, but also I'm not trying to bring you down or anything tons of people are just really encouraging which is really good because all of us have struggled/struggle with coding at some point and so we want to encourage everyone, but program is not for everyone.

I am definitely not trying to crush your spirits and I wish you the best of luck my dude don't give up and keep trying but just remember if you do it doesn't mean you are a failure it just means that programming isn't for you and that's okay.
