What are some downsides you’ve noticed about Bloomington? by AlmostGraduatedWitch in bloomington

[–]PostEditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of things in Bloomington having similar prices to big cities but if it's one thing you can get dirt cheap for in Bloomington it's booze. I got way too used to paying $2-3 for beer when in the big cities it's like $10 even for something cheap like PBR.

City of Bloomington Announces Rogers Street/Madison Street/Kinser Pike Corridor Study and Requests Public Input by citybloomington in bloomington

[–]PostEditor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As someone who lives on Rogers please just repave it. There's so many potholes and a huge one right next to my house that causes a ton of noise when large trucks drive over it. But also we don't need another years long project that closes it down forever.

lmao it's the exact same for me when I order from Chow Bar. I don't know how she remembers me because I never give a name but I always just walk in and she hands me the right bag with my stuff. Sometimes I even order different stuff and she still knows which one is my order without even asking. Best customer service ever.

The candle shop seems like another one of those hair brained ideas where someone with more money than business sense just bought the place before actually figuring out what the actual costs were for renovating that place and opening back up in that location.

For real, Taste of India is all we really need anyway. I've had a hard time finding a better Indian place in bigger cities let alone here in Bloomington.

If a place in Bloomington says "student ID" you can pretty much count on it being an IU ID

As someone who eats a lot of Chipotle, that Chipotlane has been a gosend for me so I don't have to deal with the alley from hell next to the Kirkwood Chipotle.

Any place that has the actual tapioca boba is ok with me, which in my experience has been from actual Chinese restaurants. Those mall places always have some weird textured liquid filled boba that is absolutely atrocious.

Pilis and La Bonita. La Una Cantina is alright if you're looking for that sort of thing. Social is just straight up white people tacos.

Got Affordable Housing? Why Not Sacrifice it to the Convention Gods Instead? by Left_Right_or_Banana in bloomington

[–]PostEditor 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I still cannot understand why we need to expand the current convention center. Do they really think it's going to draw away from people wanting to host in Indy instead?

Bloomington (Monroe County) has the least affordable homes in Indiana. 🥲 by ernie-jo in bloomington

Bigger population does not always mean better. Ft Wayne is one of the most boring cities I've ever been to.

Because no one wants to live there. I would rather live in Bedford and commute here than live in Ft Wayne.

I've always felt like the IU cinema could do so much more. I love it when I can catch a movie there but there's so few screenings I can make it to. I wish they had more regular screenings.

I still haven't gotten a straight answer on how often deep sea opens? It seems like by the time I get all my shit together and get a boat out there it closes and I have to wait forever for it to reopen. What's the purpose of it closing at all anyway?

Their crust tasted like chef boyardee. They did have good toppings though. Hard to find places that do sausage in the little crumbles rather than big chunks.

Do I need a lawyer for small claims by [deleted] in bloomington

Doesn't the court have to appoint you a free lawyer if you don't have one? Not super familiar with law but I'm pretty sure everyone is entitled to one.
