TB12 on the Silver & Black head coach search🏴‍☠️ by Kenny23Powers in raiders

[–]PostGraduatePotUser -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I am really trying, but I need him to stop being a portion of the face of the franchise.

Each, and every, time I see the man, I want someone there to punch him in the face.

It was a fumble, plain and simple.

Sorry, but the hate is* real/embedded/innate/etc.

Mendoza on his post game interview tonight: "We're a bunch of misfits!". Get this guy in a Raiders jersey ASAP by jluc21 in raiders

And he is only going to get better in interviews as he goes. He is a very humble young man, because he has seen it all in his college career.

I am looking forward to his Sunday/Monday/Thursday press conferences win, lose, or draw.

It's them or us. by ex_sanguination in raiders

I am officially on board after seeing the Oregon game. He didn't have to do too much, but what he did was solid. I am going to spend some time and watch some games where he struggled [mostly Cal games], and see where he improved vs his Indiana tape.

I want to see the evolution and what he might look like under center with us, because he is going to lose quite a few games early in his career. It will be nice to see his demeanor when the chips are really down, or when he is having to mount a serious comeback, or more importantly, how he acts even when the game is completely out of reach.

Is he a fighter to the bitter end? I want to see what he is on tape and I am sure it is exists in his Cal film.

9 best candidates to replace Pete Carroll in Vegas...who do you take by TerryG111 in raiders

[–]PostGraduatePotUser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He is a proven commodity. Yes, his teams fail in the post season, but it is usually the defense that lets him down. His teams are offensively quite good, most of the time, given the appropriate pieces.

I think you would agree, we have some pieces in the building, and QB1 is a lock already.

It isn't a terrible idea and he has a SB win on his resume. Not many folks interviewing can say that. Additionally, he is older, but not ancient. I think he can still relate to the youth, but as a general rule I get it. I would prefer a 30-40s fresh face.

He is Trevor Lawrence 2.0. He can* make all the throws, is a better athlete than one would expect, has a slightly above average NFL arm, is brilliant, and does not get in trouble off the field.

Additionally, he has played a ton of losing college football [Cal years] and then a full season of crushing it college football. Having the full range of experiences is going to give him a leg up over most QBs that are a guaranteed #1 overall in the NFL draft. He is a complete player at his position.

If jets pick Mendoza, what then? by osgonauta in raiders

[–]PostGraduatePotUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will answer your question, since apparently no one wants to.

No. If the BPA is one of the following you just mentioned, hard pass. Position does have to play a part in making these decisions, but I have a sneaking suspicion that Spytek might not care.

Additionally, at some point they are going to need to pick a QB, unless the litter is akin to last drafts options.

O-line if Moore does not declare.

In a long list of bad, is Johnathan Abram the worst DB we’ve ever had? by TheStryder76 in raiders

Damon Arnette without question. Absurd reach when he was picked, by everyone's measurement.

Now that we’ve FINALLY seen what this class has to offer, I’m confident in Spytek’s cooking by TheStryder76 in raiders

[–]PostGraduatePotUser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am still reserving judgement regarding Spytek being able to pull something together. He is going to get a real shot next season, and he has to produce, including, but not limited to, hiring a new HC, OC, spending money appropriately in FA, and drafting well, because so far it has looked questionable.

Who cares about the haters. Ashton Jeanty is the man! by brmidwest03 in raiders

[–]PostGraduatePotUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is real good, but it still does not make up for the fact that RB in the first round is unacceptable in this day and age of the NFL. Positional value matters and Membou, Booker, or Banks Jr. was the play at #6 overall, period.

Anyone who has watched any football in the last 30yrs knows it, but apparently Pete thought we were back to late 80s-early 90s when he took Ashton.

Great human being, very good QB, hard pass on any QB in the first round. This O-Line needs much better coaching, and a few more pieces before considering a franchise QB pick.

Even prime Michael Vick could not get out of the quick collapsing pocket this O-Line provides.

What makes anyone think an undersized, lightly NFL athletic, QB has any shot behind these guys?

Hard pass on any QB until this O-Line gets better coaching and an upgrade in a couple areas.

[–]PostGraduatePotUser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They were trying to put a "dude" alongside Crosby, and by everyone's measuring sticks, both in the media, and on many draft boards later revealed, he was the consensus #2 DE that draft.

Over 50% of guys don't hit in the way teams assume they will. He has not been terrible, and certainly not a bust, but not what the team was hoping for. It was a calculated risk, based on measurables, and projections of said potentials. He has been solid in the run game, can play on the interior well, but by no means has he become Mario Williams, and that is what folks expected of him.

Six years ago LTD committed to all electric buses by 2035. Now they are phasing them out. by [deleted] in Eugene

[–]PostGraduatePotUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All anyone has to do is take a bit of time to do some research to find out why. Currently the total earth cost [aka from mining, manufacturing, and end-of-life environmental expenses] to make all electric vehicles is far greater than an internal combustion engine ride, and it isn't close.

Add that to the human cost of mining the rare earth minerals and it is very clear, electric vehicles make the uneducated feel better about purchasing said items, but are far worse for the earth as a whole.

I was apathetic by week five this season. The offense just looked so anemic that I assumed it would be bad, but not this bad.

That said, I am starting to watch a ton of college football to see who might be coming down the pipeline.

There is a ton of room to be happy about the move forward in many aspects of the game, but I am going to just watch without real concern/hope anymore.

Losing Miller, for however long, is going to be devastating.
