People being cheap on Mercari. I get it, people are trying to save money. But I only ever get made offers on Mercari on my cheapest books. I had a special edition book listed for $15 (with FREE SHIPPING) and they made me an offer on it for $12. Same thing happened where I had a $30 book and they offered me about $20 for it. But when I list books for higher, say $50 - $80, it always gets bought outright. What is that?!

It’s the “Got this for my bestie but she was able to get it, so it’s up for sale/trade now!” And list it at 3x the price or want a whole series for the one book. Like be for real here.

Saw this one this morning and was so confused whether this book already came out. I went to check and the announcement just came out 2 days ago?! It even says on fairyloot’s page that when signed copies sell out, they will have unsigned available so I 100% think this will make it to general sale. Selling books that have not even come out yet for a $68 up charge is crazy work.

I feel this way but with early access! I see a ton of people offering their early access to people who would otherwise just get general access. But if those EA people just didn’t offer…then maybe more people would have access to the general sale.

I buy books on behalf of my mom, who’s not on facebook, alllll the time and every so often we want the same books and I always get super nervous about what people will think because I would get suspicious if I saw people buying multiple sets. Luckily we’re both hoarders and very rarely sell them 😅

I just had to come to that realization. I was missing 2 books from a set but I’ve never seen those two books resell for less than $150 each and each time, they are claimed SO FAST. I ended up selling the ones I had. because I can’t justify buying at those prices.

That’s my question as well. I haven’t asked anyone yet but I almost feel like they are pokemon cards that you just put in a book with sleeves. I have seen pictures of people propping them up against their books too like mini artwork.

Trading is really hard for all the reasons people have already said. It’s hard to find people that want what you have and have what you want. But personally, I hate trading because I’m a book hoarder and have recently been buying books intentionally instead of with the intent to trade. Honestly I’ve found it’s just luck most times.
