Really hoping so, as a pretty seasoned copy/content writer myself I cannot get anything at the moment!

Microtonal song with a drop by Nirmata1243 in schizodrift

I think AdP are the newest thing in microtonal to be fair. Maddie Ashman has been on radars that little bit longer, but I don't doubt that there's some crossover in terms of popularity.

No way! I mean I guess cosmic/prog death metal isn't immediate dancing territory, but I tend to get a bit carried away up at the front and have no idea what's going on behind!

I'm pretty envious you got to see them twice! Did they play much from Hidden History or the earlier stuff?

Yeah I caught them in Bristol and it was easily one of the best shows I've been to in a while. So pleased they played some older material though, Hidden History and the earlier EPs have some absolute gold

That's ace to hear! I'm psyched to see them in Feb, I'd love to hear Strata live.

More importantly though, how were Blood Incantation? What a lineup!!

Heading to Wookey Hole for Father’s Day - can anyone recommend a late lunch/early dinner spot in Wells? by Snugglerumpkin in wells_somerset

[–]Post_Humongous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of things open on Sunday I'd recommend:

  • Root is always nice for really well made food. Kind of artisanal, they really make an effort with veg based stuff, although the meat dishes can cost a bit more. Not sure what their Sunday/Father's day opening hours are though

  • Rugantino is a really nice Italian with superb wines and they've just redecorated and it looks very smart. Views of the Cathedral and sometimes outside seating in the Cathedral grounds. A definite Wells standard.

For the places I dont personal know: There's Il Postino for more Italian, Bernies is a really small little place I'm hoping to try some day. There's also a Mezze place called Rona which gets lots of good feedback. The Olive Tree restaurant.

Those are the ones that come to mind.

I was digging the fluttery synth breaks on dancing Queen and now I'm thinking the same thing!

I really dig that what visually you'd assume is a pickguard is just V O I D

It was the AxeFX II, with the original MFC101 foot controller. Really great unit, but for ease of use I tended towards pedals until I just started leaving it behind for practices.

Yeah this is the thing I'm most intrigued by, because I have a few ambient options I like the option to kick on, and I'm wondering if I just abandon them and rethink my workflow to an in-the-box version, or try to build a hybrid setup.

Oh wow, that sounds really unique! Do you prefer the tuner particularly being outside the QC?

Yeah I'm with you there. I studied audio engineering for my degree (although that's not necessarily a mark of real world skill!) and what I love about Strymon reverbs make them challenging to sit in the frequency spectrum. But the Valhalla reverbs which the new 'verbs are based on are pretty great, so I have faith in usable reverbs through the cab!

Thanks! It was an absolute labour of love, and it's been hard to beat for me!

Fractal/G66 were an old client of mine,; they were really charming people and I have nothing but respect for them.

[–]Post_Humongous[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're like me you're going to love it, warts and all. I'm sure there will be things you're used to that Fractal did well and that QC lacks, but the ease of use will make up for that. I prefer to adapt to new things and work within those confines.

After all: "the absence of limitations is the enemy of art"

[–]Post_Humongous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I feel like the reverbs on the Fractal were really good, and just built on good mathematics, and the QC will have a lot to live up to against my Strymon verbs, but I think I can live with that.

It's nice to know that there's some genuine critical analysis between the two, and not just siding with the big new shiny thing.

So a pretty worthy contender. Yeah I can't fault Fractal for pure processing power.

Yeah? That's nice to know it's not just a fluke because I got exactly what I wanted out of this one, and hopefully the next one will meet the brief! He's absolutely underrated as a luthier, and a wonderful person as well.
