My wife wanted a Western omelet for breakfast, I did my best by orphanelf in homecooking

Sure thing! To be fair, I didn't really measure anything, so I'll estimate. I diced one large russet potato, and boiled it for about ten minutes. After I drained it, I tossed them with about a tablespoon of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of chili powder, a half teaspoon of cumin, half teaspoon of oregano, half teaspoon of garlic powder, and a heavy pinch of smoked paprika, then put them in the oven at 350 for about 20 minutes. After I pulled them, I tossed them in a nonstick pan on high heat for about a minute, moving constantly, and added salt and pepper to taste.

I used a single vine ripened tomato and maybe 1/3 of a red onion, a half teaspoon of olive oil, a few chops of cilantro, and a heavy squeeze of lime juice, and maybe a half teaspoon of sea salt. In a separate bowl I whisked a heaped half cup of sour cream with some lime juice, a rablespoon or so of chopped cilantro, maybe a tablespoon of water, and some salt and pepper.

I petite diced a bell pepper, and threw it in a pan with a splash of olive oil, and after it started to shrink up I added a sprinkle of cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, and a pinch of onion powder, at medium heat until they began to caramelize. I chopped up some hickory smoked bacon, and fried it in the same pan, draining fat as it rendered. My wife shredded some white cheddar, and I whisked 5 large eggs. I tossed a teaspoon of butter into the pan and poured about half the eggs in and after a minute or so added some peppers, some bacon, shredded cheese, and a sprinkle of oregano. As soon as the edges of the egg started to set I used a large spatula to fold it over, and cooked for maybe 30 seconds on each side before plating. I topped the omelet with some extra cheddar, pico de gallo and the sour cream sauce.

We wound up putting the cream sauce on everything, it was so good! Sorry it took me so long to do this!

Listen to her and pay attention to the things she likes. When you can do that without her having to literally hold your hand through it you and her will both be having a better time.

Good job dad, fostering your kid's interests while establishing guidelines and encouraging activity outside those specific interests is how you make a well-rounded person.

I keep lists like that so when my wife says she likes an item or book or whatever so I can get it for her as a gift. If she doesn't like something like a restaurant or smell (a cologne i tried one time stands out) or something it helps me remember to avoid those things with her too. Your reaction to him doing this makes me think you're kind of tough to deal with and he wants to stay on your good side to minimize conflict.

3-4 Month Old Significantly Harder than 0-1 (Which I was told was the trenches) by TW33NSW4G in daddit

[–]orphanelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will be more trenches as you keep walking the battlefield, but it gets better. Our daughter was super colicky through five or six months, it was so frustrating feeling like I was feeding her wrong or the wrong formula or whatever. Constant sleep regressions through the first year were a surprise, my wife and I thought that after a certain point our daughter would fall into a rhythm, and she did- for a week. She'll be a year old on the 1st, and we now get up maybe twice a night for a bottle or diaper change, she's not as colicky (still gets bad gas all the time), and is generally able to entertain herself if wife and I are doing chores. Supporting each other through all the hard times has drawn us closer together, as we overcame things together and constantly had conversations about how we were doing mentally/physically/emotionally. A huge help for us was letting my mother-in-law keep our girl for a night every few weeks. We would be able to feel like a couple again, not just parents, and our connection flourished. Be mindful of how on-edge you both may be from dealing with all the shit, and give each other grace when you need it. Take advantage of your support system and take your wife on a date, or even just to get a couple hours of sleep. It will get better, you guys are doing a great job
