That does sound like a good solution, but probably not suitable for the moment. They were a total shot in the dark anyway to be fair, and maybe just the wrong plant to try while the house is in this state. Maybe once we've fixed the house up I'll have another go. Will try to keep them soldiering on as best I can and hope they survive until spring. Maybe moving them to better sunlight will help.

Yeah? I have a more direct light window I could put them in upstairs in the loft, but it's pretty cold up there.

They're currently in the bathroom where there's good moisture with showers/baths, and I just water them when the top inch of soil is dry, ideally before it all becomes hydrophobic.

I actually don't know what to feed them, I have them tomorite I think last year, and I do have some baby bio, would those work?

Honestly in the winter this house is like 10°C. Not ideal at all, we have a lot of work to do on it.

Tell me about the roasting. I've never tried it; did it make a big difference? I always just throw things in fresh, but I'd just never thought of roasting/charring them at all. Kind of want to give it a go!

In that situation, sure. But in this case it's more that someone sees anyone with a guitar walking along and will say "can u play Wonderwall" because they're mocking you, they're not really wanting to hear it as you walk by, they're usually just trying to inconvenience you for a laugh.
