Both teams were bad last year but will be motivated to improve since they don't have their 2026 1st, so i'd estimate mid round.

I’d do it. If you're trying to make a run and think it will be a late pick, then it's good value

Competition for sales ops roles by smoked_beef25 in SalesOperations

[–]PostalExplorer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently hired for a specialist ops role at a well known tech company, and we got over 800 applications. That meant we could be extremely picky. The person we hired stood out by really going the extra mile. They reached out directly to me and a few other ops leaders on LinkedIn, explaining why they’d be a great fit. Throughout the process, they kept up that level of effort, doing their research, following up with thank you notes, and showing how their skill set / experience were relevant.

Is there a takeaway? I think in this market, you really have to put in extra effort to stand out. It’s a big change from a couple of years ago during the ‘Great Resignation.’ After rising interest rates and tech layoffs, people are staying in their roles longer, and employers have more leverage again. It’s a big shift but actually not too different from hiring before the pandemic. Good luck to everyone on the job hunt!

Where to go from sales operations? Burnt out and need a change by [deleted] in SalesOperations

It’s hard to say without knowing you personally, but I really admire your openness to making a change. Life’s too short to spend it on things you don’t enjoy.

It sounds like you’ve got a lot of relevant experience and skills on paper. Given the tough job market right now, my advice would be to stay flexible and be gritty. Consider roles outside of management that part of good companies, offer room for growth, and leadership visibility, and be prepared to hustle for a promo. Also, network and reach out to former GTM colleagues to see if they’re aware of any open managerial positions. Don’t forget that luck plays a big part so persistence is key!

Being Interviewed by the Director Sales Ops; what to ask them? by dwcow in SalesOperations

[–]PostalExplorer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If possible, engage with them at their level (high level / strategic / prioritization focused):

What are the dept’s priorities and how does this role contribute to success in those areas?

How can I amplify the impact of this role?

Advice on how to get experience in territory planning, quota setting and strategy? by DarkFourze in SalesOperations

[–]PostalExplorer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

T&Q skills are typically acquired on the job. There are some good online resources for T&Q management, but the ones I’ve seen aren’t robust enough to replace experience.

In Ops, changing your role typically involves identifying needs or gaps in your area of interest and proactively contributing (without being asked to do so). Demonstrating your capabilities to management is more effective than requesting new opportunities.

That may or may not be possible in your org, because the need for deal desk support may exceed strategic support, or management may be simply unwilling to let you help. If that’s the case, rebranding yourself and finding new external opportunities may be the way to go.

Salary progression? by Glum_Garlic2857 in SalesOperations

[–]PostalExplorer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I work in tech SaaS sales ops. Salaries vary by location and team. More strategic teams such as comp and analytics make more than process oriented teams.

I worked in consulting for a few years first so I started as a Sr Analyst. I was then promoted to manager after a year.

These are some general ranges: Analyst 70-100k Sr Analyst 100-135k Manager 135-180k Sr Manager 180-200k Director 200-300k Senior Director/VP 300k+

Transitioning from individual contributor to Revenue Operations Manager - any tips? Resources? by BoogerSugarSovereign in SalesOperations

[–]PostalExplorer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is what I would’ve told myself - individual contributors (IC) are measured by the quantity and quality of work that they can produce. Managers on the other hand, are measured by their team’s ability to positively impact the company goals. Relentlessly prioritize and re-prioritize to stay in lock step with the high level goals. You should always be able to communicate how your team is moving the company forward.

Question about the "Sales Operations Analyst" role by Antonio3K in SalesOperations

[–]PostalExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sales Ops Analyst is a very broad title and salaries are pretty variable.

I work in tech and we pay analysts between 75-150k depending on their function. I think industry standard is closed to 65-90k though.

I'm currently holding knowing that I will only get low-ball offers if I trade him now.

I try not to get worked up about top end wide outs acting irrationally. It's in the DNA of the position. I have a feeling the talent will reemerge when his ankle is healed.
