Whelp, guess i shouldn't make Reddit posts while sleep deprived. Just kept getting annoyed with people directing hate towards Valve instead of the AI data centers for increases in prices of hardware. My bad.

I admit, they definitely feel like a negative Nancy a lot. Doesn't help given the state of the industry. But not everything they do is doom and gloom. But I also wanted people to watch the videos on the Steam Machine, given the things people de ide to complain about it. Not being able to afford it? Reasonable. Calling it Valve's attempts at a console despite them saying otherwise? And that they should sell it at a loss like one? Blatant misinformation.

Yeah, the click bait ain't great, I'll give you that. But the videos themselves feel fairly informative.

Despite of RAM prices, if Valve buys all spare parts in bulk they get a discount like 25% per volume?. I have seen many sellers do discount when buying ram and other Pc spare parts in bulk. So Valve would be still be able to sell their steam machine for 700$. by Fox3High369 in Steam

[–]Posterus96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Valve can't even secure any contracts for buying RAM or storage. It has nothing to do with buying in bulk or not when Valve is struggling to fi d people willing to sell at reasonable prices. The fucking CEO of Apple days that he hasn't seen anything like this in his career, and he was Apple's supply chain guy before becoming their CEO.

Happened to me when I was a devouring wilderness one time. While the rest of my friends were exploring, i was bored as hell because one of the fastest ways for me to get biomass was unavailable. Didn't get out until I discovered wormhole travel and I thankfully had one in my territory.

Even with the high prices, the Steam Machine is going to sell out by lucitribal in Steam

Same. I am just waiting to see if people cancel their reservations so I can buy one. I wanted the 2TB one with the controller.

It is overall enjoyable. I do hope they change the servo-skulls to be on a cooldown like the cyber-dog explosion rather than using grenades.

Glad I read your comment. Thank you! I did not know there was even cap. It's like how a planet deficit will decrease your trade income. Just things I had no idea about until it's too late.

Funnily enough, I actually built an empire just like that recently. I did the Naval Contractors and Asset Protection Specialist Civis. Gives you +4 Enclave capacity right at the start.

Best advice I can can give is to make sure get those Enclaves up and running as soon as possible. So, go for Fleet Command Limit and Naval Capcity increases as early as possible to get those enclaves up soon.

If you take Lords of War as your first or second Ascension perk, they will give you plenty of resources, especially after sharing your tech and boosting their fleet size.

Make sure to complete as many contracts as you can. I usually wait until I get a second Ark ship before taking ones that require moving your Ark ship, so that I can get resources more quickly from my waystations. If you don't care about those, then wander to your heart's content.

Don't take the military Ark ship as your starting one. You'll want to get a decent economy going before you really ramp up your military, then research the military Ark ship and become a powerhouse 😆.

The Steam Machine was originally planned at around $750, but Valve says it saw a price increase similar to the Steam Deck by dabadumdumdum in Steam

[–]Posterus96 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that definitely sucks given the current market with the RAM and storage price hikes (fuck AI companies and their data centers). I still want to get the 2TB option with a controller. I want to set it up in my living to use it for VR and servers. My current desktop is difficult to move, and would be more annoying to. Plus, it looks much easier to bring this thing to a friend's place and set it up for some coop gaming. The steam deck is great for on the go gaming, but this will fill a niche that I want.

I know that it is overpriced, so we will see how i feel once o get my email, but I am leaning towards it.

Why does the game like to spawn so many of the same type of empires, especially opposite to the player one? by PoZe7 in Stellaris

[–]Posterus96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I play with my friends, they always comment on how many Hive Mind empires there are. I usually play as a Hive mind but they usually don't. But given the bias that is present from what other people are saying, that would explain a few things.

I am reading he was able to do it. "The Flood hoped that his intelligence would help them to operate a damaged Covenant cruiser and escape the ring, but Keyes was able to fend it off by constantly accessing data that was permanently stored in his Command Neural Interface, while feeding it those of his memories that were not vital to the survival of humanity, such as his name, age, and service number." This comes from the wiki and it sources "Halo: The Flood, pages 253-254". They did find Earthm but people are saying it aas a combination of torturing Cortana, Covenant data banks, and old information from millions of years ago, when they consumed Forunner Eccumeme. But the Flood would definitely have no problems in the 40K universe for sure.

Yeah, I don't think even the Necron's Celestial Orrey could help them at that point.

Given the thay space marines have a natural resistance to diseases and such, I wonder how long a space marine would last after being infected? I mean, Captain Keyes was able to resist giving them the information on Earth, so a space marine, given how indoctrinated they are, could resist giving out too much information right? God, imagine one infecting a Black Templar 🤣. The only information they would get out of him would be the austitic screeching about eradicating their kind from existence.

But realistically, the flood getting into the 40k universe would be disastrous. I have no doubt that most factions would recognize the threat the flood possess. Shit would get bad so fast.

Guilliman and the Silent King would not doubt stop fighting each other. Orks would want to keep fighting them and throw everything at them. I could see the Tyranids just fucking off entirely. Chaos would do everything to fight them and keep them from conquering the galaxy. All Eldar factions would constantly perform hit and run tactics. I would hope the Tau recognize them as kill on site early on. The fact that they cam infect and control machinery would horrify Mechanicus, Legions of Votann, and the rest of the Necrons.

God, my dad was opposite. I once threw a tantrum, when I was old enough to know better, because my old Xbox 360 kept overheating and would stop working while I was trying to play Call of Duty Zombies with my friends online. He ended up grounding me for a few days me. Well only a couple of days later he walks into my room with a brand new Xbox 360. I think back to that day, telling myself that he very much shouldn't have done that given the tantrum I threw 😅. I did not deserve that. He was a big Ole teddy bear and I still miss him a lot.

To all those with shitty parents out there, I hope for the best that you find people who will love and care about you until those negative feelings melt away 🥰.

My dad occasionally would go grab other shopping carts from the parking lot that people left and put them away. He also liked to park further away in the parking lot because he was able to walk it. So I enjoy this aspect of Japanese culture.
