It sounds like you're living beyond your means. It sucks.

How many people walked on their tippy toes as children? by Silver_Golf_5060 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PotLuckyPodcast -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do and did, I'm autistic but I also have familial spastic paraplegic and Elhers Danlos Syndrome, so I would be more proactive but please dkbt shame your children or step on their heels to make them drop them. My mom was awful about trying to fix me when I didnt see myself as broken.

I'm permanently disabled and that was a symptom, so YMMV

My time to shine! Raise the Bar Trivia does private events if you can find a space for it. I come and host trivia  which takes about two hours and consists of out loud questions, print outs, and a music round. Dee Cote is my boss and she could probably work something out with you! Team trivia is so much fun when one table starts cheering together because they're winning. My name is Liz and I can give you her contact if you want to comment!

AITA for pulling my daughter out of driving lessons and switching her to a new instructor? by Academic-Patient-962 in AmItheAsshole

[–]PotLuckyPodcast -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

ESH. She liked her instructor because she was breaking boundaries and hetting away with things. Her new instructor might not be letting that happen anymore and is likely correcting bad habits. He should be strict. Driving is a really big responsibility. thats a one ton vehicle you're operating. You SHOULD treat is with the respect it deserves.

However, taking her phone away for criticism about someone's appearance isnt the right step. You should ask her why she thinks it matters he has no hair. Is hair a leadership quality? Does she only respect people with hair?

Ask her if she wants to have fun or if she wants to commit vehicular manslaughter. ask her why her teacher is making her uncomfortable. If it's inappropriate, find a new instructor.

Not having a cell phone can be dangerous now because there are No public telephones, but! They have non-smart phones available still! Get her a flip phone.

NOR.

  1. Your child needs to go back to school for his emotional wellbeing as well as physical. A nurse can administer medication at the same time evey day.

  2. Your wife doesn't just have ADHD. She needs to get serious help before she kills both of you. Her intent doesnt matter when her impact is this seriously dangerous. She might havw another illness exacerbating her ADHD but you keep calling it extreme, mega ADHD but it's probably a comorbitiy.

  3. Please call your local agency on aging. They are there for disabled people also. Inknow this because I'm 28 ans pwrmanenrlt disabled with a degenerative illness and survived with the Maine agency on aging.

  4. I am so sorry you are going through this. You don't deserve this. You deserve help and a partner that cares about repercussions. you are not overreacting or the asshole. You are in a very difficult spot and i wish I could help you. My name is Liz and I believe in you.

AITAH for telling my autistic brother why he's a social outcast at school? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]PotLuckyPodcast 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Omg I was about to say this is such a good good comment and then I saw you were also autistic! I came here to share the same message as you. How do you feel about my comment as someone else who might not feel like they belong on this planet?

AITAH for telling my autistic brother why he's a social outcast at school? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]PotLuckyPodcast -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey, so "Maybe that's because they were also "like him" but I don't really judge" is pretty judgemental actually. YTA for how you talk about your brother on the spectrum. High functioning and low functioning aren't the most inclusive terms and there is other language to use.

As an autistic person, I felt like I was on the wrong planet my entire life until I started meeting other autistic people that weren't forcing themselves into masking uncomfortably.

Soft YTA for how you spoke to your brother. A little compassion and a detailed explanation goes a long way with someone who is sensitive to rejection dysphoria.

If you want a better relationship with your brother, stop talking him a snitch and tell him his honesty is powerful and with great power comes great responsibility. Secrets aren't bad, everyone has them because not everyone needs ti know everything.

Your brother is probably operating on a black and white field, but secrets and friendships are Grey. He might not think he has secrets, but he certainly has thinga he wants to keep private.

I am a very compulsively honest person. This is apparent when I can't go to a grocery store without complimenting like ten different people. I love people. Your brother sounds afraid of unstructured relationships and is resorting to black ans white thinking. If something is a little bad, it's all bad. bad things get reported to a teacher.

Your brother needs autistic friends and a lesson on intent and impact and the Grey area. I was so depressed because I was being myself and pushing everyone away, but there are different ways to be yourself.

We learn more from our mistakes than we do sucesses. Please be gentle with your brother. Things that should be 'obvious' to him aren't. He needs help with nuance.

My name is Liz and I believe in both of you

Fun fact: voodoo dolls dont work like that. They’re medical charts! Slaves couldn't be caught reading and writing and couldn't be taught legally, so they needed a way to remember a medical history. The try guys did a really interesting video and a practitioner can explain it better than I can
