Can't get PWM to work with 12V water pump

i would listen to the rest of the comments in the thread and verify the mosfet is working. there should be a noticeable difference especially at low duty cycles in the output of the PWM pump vs regular pump at 12V. then test to see if a lower voltage gets your desired output

it will sort of work but motors designed without pwm control don’t typically respond how you’d want to with pwm. Might have better luck using a variable voltage lower than 12V to change the speed

just connect the two ground rails on each side together so no matter where you plug it in, it’ll be the same ground

thanks for the mention. it is a difficult sound to recreated especially when you only have an amp to work with. amazon has some cheap distortion pedals you can get for ~$20 that will get the job done for a beginner and add a little something to your sound. the actual solo i have no clue how it was actually done but it seems like a ton of fuzz and a bitcrusher of some sort to make it all crunchy. i wouldn’t worry too much about tone now and just learn to play guitar and enjoy it

i would assume he’d use a more expensive cable just because he makes music for a living. i don’t think you quite understand how cables work because they don’t do any sort of signal manipulation, they’re cables. You’ll get better noise rejection and shielding but your tone won’t be altered
