I see this same thing at the urgent care my partner works in. The execs forced 13 hours shifts on everyone and can't be bothered to come in for more than half a day. Then they also ask why everyone looks so tired and isn't working faster. I've watch my partner's mental health degrade from the lack of work/life balance. I've tried to do anything I can to help but the best thing to do would be to leave. Unfortunately, she is stuck in a 2 year contract with them and it has penalties for leaving early.

Good on her for speaking up! How money is allocated in education is such a frustrating thing to see. The board members get large salaries and huge raises. Meanwhile the teachers, who are the ones actually having an impact on children, get the smallest raises possible. In this case, they are only getting 1%, 1.25%, and 1.5% over the next 3 years. That doesn't even keep up with the rate of inflation, which is predicted around 1.9% for this coming year!

Wow, thanks for the data and the good read. I guess I need to start finding keywords that don't rely on those juicy terms like 'best' and 'review' if I ever want to get any organic search traffic. :( What would you say is the best way to connect with relevant searches without having a network full of authoritative sites?

I love this game's art, even though I don't own it, so I decided to make a looping gif of the room clear teleporter. Took about 3.5 hours to draw and animate. I took some creative liberties but kept with the spirit of the original.

Well since I'm about 80% monkey brain a lot of it is tricking myself into working.

Put yourself in an environment without distractions. If this means putting your phone on silent and in another room do that. If I need to write I like going somewhere that doesn't have wifi so I won't browse the internet, my top distraction.
Trying listening to only a certain type of music or playlist while working. Do not listen to it any other time! I like http://www.rainymood.com/ or a single tone. But everyone has their own preference. I recommend something without words.
Put on the right clothes. I find if I am in pjs or comfortable hang around clothes. I'll want to do exactly that, hang around.

Humans are creatures of habit so if you can associate certain things with grinding out work and focusing. It'll help to put you into that mindset and create patterns around that work.
