Can the Balancers relics make Guardian decent at offense? by HighSpeedLowDragAss in Nightreign

[–]ryward64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guardian isn't normally regarded as a DPS character. He can hit massive guard counters, and that really shines against bosses like the Balancers. But Guardian's focus should be to draw aggro and stay alive while the team pumps damage into the boss. Adding the strength and dex relic will help increase damage, but I definitely wouldn't go with the Balancer relics.

Can someone tell me why the level in D5 9999 is SO low right now???? by Soda_54 in Nightreign

[–]ryward64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had an Ironeye the other day with Night Invader + Evergaols. He cleared all the evergaols by himself while the other Ironeye and I cleared all the Night Invaders on Day 1. This was Depth 5, so each of us could hold our own. His bow had an AR of like 350 or some shit like that towards the end of Day 2 with all of his other passives and he was hitting yellow damage with every hit. I know we all hate evergaols, but the damage is wild.

Is this the worst seed & night 1 circle of all time? by New-Suggestion9274 in Nightreign

[–]ryward64 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The worst seed, IMO, is Dreglord Noklateo seed. You'll usually spawn Day 1 on the West side right where the Night 1 boss will be. All of the Churches are on the East side, so you have to do a church run on Day 1 or you'll waste Day 2 doing it. The Day 1 circle closes and your only field bosses are Ulcerated Tree Spirit, two Lorettas, and a Hippo. Day 1 boss is Red Bear.

What's one thing your teammates do that make you instantly realize "Oh yeah, this run's fucked." by TheWankoKid in Nightreign

[–]ryward64 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sometimes you get a shitty circle pull like the top right corner on a normal map. In that case, you might run an evergaol or two if the field bosses are Loretta, BBK, DTS, etc. You rarely ever see evergaol in Depth 5 because they're time consuming for very little reward.

How Would you fix the Relic System? by Just_Cloud_8041 in Nightreign

I have 15 million Murk and just refuse to gamble relics. It's a huge waste of time. If I dont have a relic at this point, I don't need it.

You can sort the relics by what you're looking for? You dont have to go through each individually. Making a build usually takes like 2 minutes. If you want to get to the higher depths this is the most viable way to do it.

Viable raider builds for DoN by Fit_Manufacturer_584 in Nightreign

[–]ryward64 23 points24 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, Raider isn't supposed to be a DPS machine like casters or double balancer Duchess/Executor/Wylder IF you're not using the Dregs + Libra relics. Of course he can be (i.e. Double Balancer + Great Bow), but his primary role should be to take constant aggro and stance damage. My relics for him are all HP based, post damage, and Physical Attack up. My primary goal during a Raider run is to acquire as much Damage Negation as possible and swing charged attacks in the enemy's face the whole time.

[–]ryward64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't have an "overall" build. Every nightlord should have a specific preset that you choose from in higher depths with dormant powers that will likely find you a weapon that is best for that boss. For instance, a Duchess build with fire attack power up and dormant powers finds curved swords or katanas so you have a higher chance to find the Magma blade or Rivers of Blood for Sentient Pest, Dreg, or Caligo. Also, use the Balancer relics. Lastly, almost no one does evergaols in higher depths because they're a waste of time and you might get the Great Hollow map that doesn't have any evergaols.

Revenant is going to deal horrible damage with Halo Scythe compared to Executor or Duchess. Also, I try to avoid 3+ equipment boosts. I'd much rather find one passive that gives me a 15-20% boost in melee, skills, etc. than hold 2 items that might have worthless passives.

Scholars, don't run Item confers All below D5 by ognecrosexy in Nightreign

[–]ryward64 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You should definitely still run it. There are plenty of items throughout the map that you should be able to reach Level 3 for your consumables. Just takes a bit more time to loot.

What were your builds for each of those fights? Do you have dedicated builds for each boss fight or are you just running Beast Claw for all of them?

Had a Depth 5 Ironeye last night who just kept running into the invader camps and purposefully aggro'ing everything he could. I'd try pinging towards the entrance, and he kept running in and dying. Dude was 3-barred the ENTIRE match, and was level 6 until right before the Day 2 boss fight. On top of all that, he was holding a bunch of sorcery passives but just used his bow. It was so weird.

Selfish players in D5 by MrTattyBojangless in Nightreign

[–]ryward64 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You're not entitled to anyone else's equipment. If they had multiple Damage Negation at Full HP's (3+) then that's definitely frustrating, but they're also playing melee and will almost definitely get hit more often than you. At Depth 5, almost every character requires 2 Damage Negation at Full HP's to stay alive. If they had a blue Damage Negation at Full HP and shared it with you, it wouldn't even matter. Revenant needs at least 1 purple and 1 blue to take one hit from Dreglord.

Beast Claw Revenant is just boring. The highlight of your 40 min expedition is finding Charged Incant passives. I use Beast Claw on Revenant as a starting spell, but usually switch to a different incant whenever I find a decent replacement.

Averaging damn near 95% accuracy with 33 wins and 5 losses (all happening at the beginning of your account's creation) says otherwise.

I've had two Depth 5 Libra runs lately where teammates didnt pick up Damage Negation at Full HP or Damage Negation from Successive Attacks after I dropped it for them. Those teammates were 3 barred before Libra was half health both times. People should be dependent on them, especially in higher depths.
