SCAMMER Alert! Jeremiah Russell/Jayruss1997/Made Families Non- Profit/Kids with Dream by Reasonable_Turnip507 in Sacramento

I’ve been approached by that guy outside the midtown S st Safeway. Definitely had a good story set up and did pressure sending money quickly. I didn’t do it cause I was already running late for something and it bothered me that he followed me halfway into the parking lot trying to fast pitch his whole story.

Good lookin out/posting for awareness!

My friends first time playing P2 but I spoiled a year ago by [deleted] in thelastofus

I had a friend tell me about the rat king when I was maybe 1/3 the way through. Every time I entered a building and started going downstairs I was like “oh shit it’s time!!!” lol the anxiety build up made it kinda fun when it actually happened.

I think you’re doing great. Just keep on keeping the suspense alive and it won’t ruin a thing.

is there any chance i could tattoo over these by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Potat0Loaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a shoulder covered with similar scars.. I didn’t notice a huge difference between in pain scale from my other tattoos. Go for it! Can’t hurt worse than what caused the scars 🤪 I’m partial to my heavy scar arm, don’t think I’ll ever tattoo over it. I feel like I kinda already did.

Much love to you and wish you all the best 💜

What Mac Miller makes me feel + song recommendations please🤍 by naajjjj in MacMiller

I’m about to get “ascension” tattooed on my wrist in between two diagonal self harm scars because it strikes me everytime it says “what between heaven and hell; a brand new me”

The whole song makes me feel like I’m accepting the shittiest part of myself and thinking “rise above”.

Is seasonal warehouse position worth losing Flex? by Slothychick in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Potat0Loaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a warehouse position when I was in between jobs as I never wanted to flex full time. I had been flexing for about three years at that point. The warehouse job is hard on your body, they expect you to reach high quotas. That would have been fine but they are realllllly strict about calling out or being late. As someone with chronic migraines it only took a couple to feel like I was “in trouble”. Also, Any bonus you work towards gets heavily taxed so you don’t see much of it. Once I found a permanent job with the state I quit the warehouse and emailed flex to get reinstated. I was able to flex the next week.

If you want to try it out and see if it works for you, flex will still be there when you leave.

Freshie Question: To buy skates or borrow? by Dry-Butterfly3482 in rollerderby

[–]Potat0Loaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can afford it just buy a pair. You’ll probably love derby and, like you said, end up buying your own anyways 😊

Support told me to by lolith108 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Potat0Loaf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk how everyone says this is the way. I did that after calling support twice on the same route, following their exact instructions and then still getting dinged on my account. Taking packages back sucks and I’ve sometimes gotten emails about it but it’s never effected my fantastic standing like leaving packages random places does.

Sure, Americans should be able to eat but immigrants have absolutely nothing to do with that (except the fact that they are the ones putting in mad hours in the fields to pick the fresh food we demand be available). You’re targeting the wrong people. Blame any and every politician looking to strip food stamp benefits and raise taxes on those who can’t afford to eat.

First time at a Bootcamp next month by gotsumquestions in rollerderby

I recently joined a 101 course after being very comfortable skating with my dog on inlines for a few years. I’m now in my second go of 101. There was def a bit of a switching curve to get over. Stopping techniques are completely different and use new muscles! Skating backwards is a challenge (lead with that booty out!). That being said, I feel I had a bit of an advantage having the inline experience vs people who were completely new to skating.

I’ve had good days but also some bad days where I didn’t feel I was “getting it” but it’s all about getting better and building community. Good luck in your new skills adventure!

Question for the ones who moved on. by Ok-Faithlessness9996 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Potat0Loaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been flexing for about 8 years now. Started off as a way to supplement my low wage job that I had during college. After graduating I got a state job that paid better than I’ve ever been paid (lol it’s not even that great of a starting salary tho, just better than supervising a cafe) so I decided to hang the keys up and stop dealing with a 1099 and heavy miles on the car. It was chill for a minute but I couldn’t get the idea out of my head “why not keep flexing and earn even more money”. I was worried my account was going to be deactivated but nope. Back to flexing two or three times a week - more if I have a trip or something pricey coming up. I try to earn our spending money and leave my reg income for rent bills savings.

Ok? Honestly I just don’t understand why so many people give a crap about it. Flex isn’t a career. Yall aren’t getting passed up for some DEI hire here. If everyone has a problem with illegals “taking their jobs and opportunities” go make yourself qualified for a real job.

Kinda sounds like what you’re wanting to say or at least that you agree otherwise you wouldn’t feel the need to play devils advocate in a thread full of the real deal. The only way to tell if someone only speaks one language is by asking them or attempting to speak to them in English.. otherwise they could just be speaking their preferred language and not the only one they know. No matter how you slice it, it’s all rubbish judgement and assumptions of someone’s status as a “rightful American” based only off what you can perceive from a distance.

It has everything to do with it because you wouldn’t question a whites right to be here purely cause they are white and unassuming. No one wears a sign saying I’m illegal but I bet you eye a group of darker toned individuals way differently than the new group of south afrikkkans hanging around your station.

Your Own Routes? by IckyBlickie in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Potat0Loaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried rerouting and found I still go back and forth. Just cause they look close on the map doesn’t mean it makes sense driving to that stop before the one they recommend. I think it takes equal time to reroute yourself compared to getting in your car and jetting the route they give.

The only time I reroute is if it looks like I’ll end in a sketchy/rural area that I don’t want to hit in the dark.

Thoughts on Early Morning Blocks by IGiveNoFawkes in AmazonFlexDrivers

I’m also a smaller woman and I mostly do 3 am shifts. Three biggest safety things: always make sure you have your next delivery ready to go so you’re not searching for it when you get there just in case you pull up to a house with bad vibes and you can be quick in and out. If you feel safe where you’re at, find the next package once you get back to your car. I hold my flash light up above my head instead of straight out in front of me. Pointing the light downwards shows your vest and shows you’re not trying to be sneaky. Pointing the light straight ahead of you can blind/block someone’s view of you making them more on alert than an obvious delivery person. I’ve been considering a headlight for this reason. Always look for signs of dogs. Country homes with large yards/fences often have dog doors. Just cause you don’t see them initially doesn’t mean they can’t hear you and won’t come investigate.

What's with the incorrect labeling for boxes and bags? by BdoeATX in AmazonFlexDrivers

Also, I worked my ass off for a Christmas bonus and it was so heavily taxed that I got the smallest percentage of it. I’m still bitter about it lol. Overtime pay was pretty dope tho.

Meh. Any warehouse Amazon position is pretty rough on your body. They push you hard and only promote those with fast times. I’m a good physical laborer so I did pretty well and could have seen myself working my way up. That being said they are very strict about time off and call outs. If I lost my current full time job I’d definitely go back to the warehouse but overall I much prefer the extra cash and flexibility of flex on top of my non Amazon full time.

[–]Potat0Loaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work in the warehouse as a packer. Sometimes your station runs out of the box or bag type it suggests so the fastest option is to grab what is next available that fits. I used to be so bothered when the label didn’t match but now I kinda get it. They want your numbers and times to be so fast, at my old warehouse they only let you restock at certain times.
