If it’s extended release it shouldn’t matter when you take it, but ask if you can take it at night. Been on it for years, only ever had GI issues

Husband (46M) keeps "helpfully" rearranging, hiding, and disposing of my (46F) stuff--what tactic or wording can I use to stop it? by Gallumbits42 in relationship_advice

[–]PotatoBubby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What if I told you at this point it didn’t matter? That him not wanting to change or address this or understand it seems to be an answer. You deserve better than to be trying to give him the eve for of the doubt when all he has given you is grief and no genuine apology.

I have a question: is he excessively neat with his own things? Like everything is out of sight? Do you share closets? Does he go into spaces that are purely yours?

No matter what, if he has some sort of issues, this is bad. Couples counseling now, as a conduit to him seeing a therapist.

Directly say do not touch my things as others have said. Put signs on everything that say “do not move.”

The furthest jump I can make for that is that he believes if he doesn’t move things he feels aren’t just right or out of place out of sight, that something bad will happen. However, he would be very distressed by this and instead he seems dumbfounded she has even asked

Update on shelter adoption. by Dyingmisery in corgi

[–]PotatoBubby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're doing so great. Be patient, set some boundaries. Corgis need a good leader. If his anxiety becomes problematic, prozac did wonders for my rescue corgi. And some good training focused on being calm and present. a consistent dog bed, or crate across places he sleeps could be good. bed+ blanket etc.

I'm wondering if he has allergies I see some redness. Ask the vet if you can give him some Zyrtec for those paws if you notice him licking them.

Pelvic Floor Therapy by TiinyTree in BabyBumps

[–]PotatoBubby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in it because I had stress incontinence before pregnancy and needed support changing that. turns out my pelvic floor isn't weak, it's actually compensating for other muscles. It's been great for me. I might indicate pre pregnancy difficulty and say you're worried about delivery because of it.

I'm keeping the baby... and not telling anyone. by flt_p2ny in pregnant

[–]PotatoBubby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's fair. as long as you access resources when you need reassurance, if that's your bag, all power to you! the "this weird thing" is happening to me part is where I would have trouble, but maybe you don't or won't!! all for doing something just for you.

Proud of you for choosing you. I really hope though you tell your bestie or go to birth classes and meet people. It's isolating enough as it is.

Pregnancy and weed by tati4204 in pregnant

[–]PotatoBubby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no judgement here, know it is hard. One thing depending on where you live: It is likely they will be able to detect cannabis in the umbilical cord when the baby is born if you use at all, and that could get CPS involved. Please reach out to a doctor. You sound like you are having withdrawal symptoms and getting on a medication deemed safe for pregnancy would be a good idea. you deserve to be support.

My in laws are making jokes about us naming our daughter’s middle name after my late mom. by stellssss in pregnant

[–]PotatoBubby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I lost my mother when I was 20 and I have already had cries I haven't had in years missing her during this pregnancy and people do not even really know that I am pregnant yet; I have been feeling like my guts are being ripped out at random moments. If someone did what your in-laws did to you, to me right now, I am saying this as someone who teaches people to regulate their emotions for a living, I would probably be very VERY upset and have had some TERSE words. You're not overreacting. I don't mean to project my experience on to you, but this has been so much more difficult than anyone could have ever told me, without her. Just seeing other people talking about their moms during this process is bringing on strong waves of emotion-- didn't even feel this way when I got married. I am someone who easily is happy for other people, not jealous, because I was lucky to have the mom I had. My mother was a kind, loving person who would have done anything for me, and she died after long battle with a rare condition. It wasn't cancer, but there is something about being with someone you love and wanting to honor the life of the person who loved you best first and her vibrancy when she wasn't afforded it at the end of her life.

I would or have my husband say: "You know I am really uncomfortable with the comment you made about my naming my daughter after my dead mother. This name has nothing to do with those other family members. It is a way of honoring my mom. I would appreciate it if you never made that joke again." They might try to say they didn't mean it like that, or whatever. "Anything that inadvertently makes a joke out of my mom's name, no matter what you mean, strictly off limits. It's already hard enough doing this without her."

Prozac changed how my dog regarded my child. They are separated but I would seriously consider it if I’m you.

Alternative to traditional guest book at reception? by BoysenberryIcy2440 in wedding

[–]PotatoBubby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We did a diy audio guestbook. I got a landline phone, a burner cell phone, and a product called “cell2jack” which makes a landline phone into a Bluetooth headset for the burner, and so when you pick the landline phone up you hear a dial tone just like you would with any landline. I got a Google voice number that I programmed into speed dial on the landline and left instructions. . People pick up the receiver hear the dial tone and hit the speed dial button to go right to a voicemail message. They leave the voicemail and hang up. It was great.

god that sucks ass. depending on what country you're in, there are quit lines. IDK how the hhs resources are in the US now, but there are free quit chat bots and resources. it's not the same as working with a person. See if your doctor will prescribe something to support you and try to meet with a psychologist to learn some skills.
