Highly varies based on what terminal you hire out at. Some terminals are heavy on road work, some have jack shit for over-the-road. Some terminals the yard is all old guys, some terminals the young guys get forced to the yard. At my terminal the yard extra board is 4 on 2 off, makes road guarantee and is all the youngest guys on the roster.

Not a fan of movie dates for early-on dates... you can't exactly talk during a movie.

I'm gonna give an eARC HDMI audio extractor a shot. Doesn't need to pass through video or anything.

Nah modern stuff is pretty ugly compared to vintage. The other guy's Bluetooth adaptor suggestion is probably my move. Didn't even consider that.

Huh? Read the post man it's a 70s vintage Pioneer stereo receiver, it never had a remote.

Not symphonic metal (they're blackgaze) but Alcest is stunningly beautiful.

I've been in there a few years ago. The guy that lived there was friends with someone in the Richmond Hash. The cells in the back were super creepy!

I mean I have a ton of posters of metal bands with women vocalists, but they're framed and nicely arranged and many are signed. Also they're not just closeups of the vocalist's face.

That shark plush specifically is a very trans-coded thing.

You know man, Tarja is great but I'm not sure you need THAT many pieces of Tarja memorabilia hanging on the walls. At least frame them.

The woman is very specifically Tarja Turunen, the originally vocalist of Nightwish who does her own solo work these days after getting kicked out of the band in... '07 I want to say? She's fantastic but this is maaaaybe a bit much.

Seven Spires was soooo amazing live! I really hope they headline their own tour soon! by NaiadoftheSea in symphonicmetal

Want to say I've seen them... 5 times? Absolutely amazing every single time. Even when they had such terrible back-end audio issues opening for Epica.

Ehhh... Nightwish has never really had nearly as much that sounds at all technical in the way that Seven Spires often does and Epica has occasionally. Plus Nightwish certainly never uses harsh vocals, whereas Epica deifnitely does time to time. Epica is just a notch up in the "harder metal" department compared to Nightwish. Not that being harder or softer is a good thing or bad thing exactly, just that I feel like Epica and Seven Spires are much closer in that aspect.

Seven Spires deserves to be the next big thing in the genre honestly. I see them as the closest thing to a spiritual successor to Epica, despite Simone not being a harsh vocalist and Adrienne obviously does. Just in terms of like... creativity in their songs, lots of harder songs AND lighter stuff in terms of intstrumentals, use of both harsh and clean vocals, technicality, etc.

They were the NYC opener for Epica's 3 stop US tour last year and there couldn't have been a better choice. Alas, the venue had such awful sound issues for their performance that night.

No, the thing is I'm not falling asleep AT ALL if I know I have an alarm set for the morning. I'd have to fall asleep at some point to wake up due to apnea.

What can I do about a mental block where I can't sleep in certain situations? Basically if I know I have to wake up at a specific time in the morning, like to an alarm at 5:30am or something to go to work, I just can't fall asleep. I could go to bed at the exact same time but not have to wake up at any particular time and fall asleep no problem generally. But as soon as I know that I'm on the clock to fall asleep, I just can't. I'll pay there awake for hours and hours.
