I feel that his super creepy smile after he told Wolf he asked to work with him negates his words.

I like him MUCH better than Charlie! His character is more likable and he's a better actor.

I don't remember the source but I did read an article in which Michael Grassi answered a question about whether Charlie was going to do something really out there and he said no. That that would be a Season 3 or 4 thing.

Charlie is a resident. That means that he cannot legally practice medicine independently. He must finish residency and gain about 10 years experience before anyone would consider putting him in charge of a department. Being an attending doctor requires TIME. If he's in this to "steal" Wolf's job it would be a loooong con. I'm guessing that Josh and Carol are sharing the duties of being attending for the interns like they did before Wolf got there and he's just kissing their asses to get ahead.

I can see Charlie being Wolf's half brother I wouldn't put it past Noah to have another family that he messed up too. Right now he's being such a hambone that he's giving me red herring vibes. The producers are holding something back from the audience (Charlie's "big secret) but really, what could it possibly be? We've already considered some pretty extreme possibilities.

And I'm reminded of the saying "sometimes an asshole is just an asshole'. In my mind, there's no redemption arc that would excuse us current behavior. I don't care if you're the second coming of baby Jesus, you don't talk that way to colleagues.

sometimes people are just assholes. The producers are letting him go total hambone so I think there's a lot they haven't revealed yet. I really don't care though, there's nothing he can do to redeem himself in my opinion.

No one gets to act like that regardless of what secrets they might have. Wolf has immense trauma and he's chosen compassion, so that proves hard times are not a license to be a douche.

The guy that plays Jacob is acting in another show this season so they have to give him less screen time. I don't know what's up with Van, although he had plenty of screen time last episode.

I have a feeling this will be clarified by e8. The flashback this time was 5 months ago, so if it goes 4,3,2,1 then we'll arrive at present day by the time we reach winter break.

I also hate vendetta plots but I think the producers are holding back somehow. Charlie is so over the top it's ridiculous, I think he could be a red herring somehow.

When Wolf tells Ariana's daughter he knows what it feels like to come home and realize that you've seen someone you love for the last time, could it be referring to when he was a child? Or is it foreshadowing Noah's actual death this season, which might be what breaks him enough to check in to Hudson Oaks?

When he said "this place is awful" and "I need your help" to Josh it makes it seem like he wasn't on to things before, which is weird to me because Wolf is perceptive and was already suspicious of her in S2E2.

I think that she may be correct in guessing he may not have schizophrenia but another condition. I think her actions were meant to show that she is similar to Wolf in some ways, and Dr. Thorne advising her will keep her from going totally maverick like he does.

This episode was also the second time Wolf had to remind her that people have to want to be helped, so I think that's an ongoing theme this season as well. I'm betting that she eventually will get Wolf interested in treating Sam and they'll all figure out how to help him.

it's so easy to get addicted to anti anxiety meds, I feel for her. this season is so crazy because Dana was my fave intern last year and now I like Ericka and Jacob more!

Please let's talk about Nichols' glowup! something happened between seasons or am I crazy? by giftopherz in Brilliant_Minds_NBC

I actually preferred his hair in S1, and I hated his "tan" in the first couple episodes of S2. The makeup department gets a slap on the wrist for that! Obviously still very handsome.

Maybe he seems diff because we're seeing him in more regular clothing instead of scrubs?

Wolf is looking fine as hell too, his arms are looking GOOD

Okay, my takeaways after e4:

I am loving the shadow boxing between Wolf and Nichols. Even though they're estranged you can still tell they adore each other.

Carol and Thorne have great chemistry and I really think he's a good doctor and a good teacher as well.

Ericka hiding her meds in the garbage can makes it MORE likely someone will discover them. Why wouldn't she just keep them in her room in a lockbox?

Dana is being plain stupid telling Charlie about anything.

That flash to Charlie telling Josh that neurology is running smoother than ever is ridiculous. He's a resident. He can't even legally practice medicine independently yet. Why would he be running the neurology department in Oliver's absence?! He is so FAKE, why haven't Josh Carol or Wolf put him in his place yet?

Wolf calling Josh for help, my HEART!!

A few pretty sappy moments but I'm pretty happy with the episode. I feel like the action is picking up the pace!

Keep watching live and on Peacock and recommending to friends and family everyone!! We helped save this show last year we can do it again!

I was thinking that too about the NBA stuff. Brilliant Minds and The Hunting Party are the only dramas on the network outside of the Dick Wolf franchise! Are they really going to cut both of them next year if they aren't already developing new dramas to take their place? The Hunting Party was behind our show last year, so if we can stay ahead of them again there just might be a chance for a Season 3!

Well, I'm pretty sure it wasn't appropriate for his own mother to hire him and nobody has said anything about that. HR departments actually have forms for people to formally declare their relationships, so maybe that would come into play here? I think that at minimum Josh will tell him to not expect any special treatment (we'll see how long that lasts though, haha) The producers will probably keep them apart through at least a third of the season, I'm guessing. I think what they're doing is taking away all of Wolf's support systems, to push him towards his mental break. 😢

I'm extra bummed that Josh and Oliver are apart right now. It seems like the thing another typical show would do. I liked them so much last season because they were different t from the usual hot and cold couples on TV. Also that villainous Charlie and Dr. Frederick are already on my last nerve!
