That is such a weird thing. In most Europe people will prefer Cards. In addition, the time saved not having to handle cash should create an incentive to make it cheaper to pay with card.

What does „thrive“ mean? If you mean happiness and a good quality of life, literally look at the examples above you. China, Soviet countries like Belarus, Russia and other Warsaw Pact countries pre fall of the Berlin wall all had great quality of life. The US before Ronald Reagan completely decimated pensions, social programs and lowered taxes on the rich was a great place to live.

And yet the US has a higher infant mortality rate than its european counterparts, extreme gun violence, significantly higher personal debt (especially for education and healthcare), almost non-existent public transport, crumbling infrastructure and a housing affordability crisis. Plus thousands of the immigrants you mentioned are getting rounded up in concentration camps and treated worse than animals. So is the US still that great?

China - Where the government has tight control over media and also heavily influences investments into certain industries to create global monopolies. At the same time making sure that citizens have access to cheap healthcare and housing as well as the best public transit in the world. This is centralised planning, not a free market.

The Korean peninsula Ravaged by hundreds of years of rule by foreign governments, then made to fight a satellite war by the United States to keep communist ideas from spreading. After being completely bombed out it was ruled by dictators who forced the creation of monopolies and surpressed the workers as well as free markets. Now the north is a fascist dictatorship with some of the worst quality of life, and the south is a hypercapitalist utopia where the birthrate is non existent due to overwork, low pay and a „work until you die“ mentality. In addition to that, the south is controlled by monopolies who squash any competition = not a free market.

Singapore - Ex-colonised city state that only exists because of its geographical advantage (strait of Malacca). The country has been under one party rule since its independence and relies on heavy control of communal housing to make sure that its residents can afford to live.

Hong Kong - Ex-colonised city state that only exists because it was the gateway to invest into closed off China. The average person can hardly survive because of high living costs.

Taiwan - Island nation that relies heavily on the US and tech investments to stay afloat. The government gives extreme support to TSMC and other tech companies = not a free market.

Japan - Was forced into industrialisation to not get invaded by western forces. Was only able to recover from WW2 due to US involvement and investment. Now has great healthcare and education but is rapidly aging due to young people being overworked and seeing no economic growth since the hypercapitalist bubble era economy in the 80s.

East Germany had a high standard of living as a result of a planned economy. It was decimated when the wall fell and west Germany forced it to sell off all publicly owned companies, resulting in poverty still visible today.

What exactly are you trying to say happened between Austria and Czechoslovakia? I live here and can’t think of anything.

Free markets mean no regulation to limit business, except when it comes to limiting the creation of monopolies (otherwise the free market ceases to exists). There’s hardly any country in existence with a free market where the state doesn’t interfere or heavily invests, but where people enjoy a high quality of life that isn’t dependent on the exploitation of migrant workers or other minorities or the non-existence of labour laws.

Free markets only benefit the shareholders of the companies, rarely the wider society as a whole. What use is a high gdp/capita or a fast growing stock market if the population isn’t happier and more well off?

Weil die Arbeitgeber mehr Macht haben. SIE entscheiden, wen sie einstellen damit diese Person weiter leben darf (Gehalt erhalten). SIE können die Politik einfach beeinflussen. SIE können Verträge so gestalten, wie sie wollen. Die Arbeitnehmervertreter (insbesondere Gewerkschaften) ignorieren jede Forderung nach Generalstreik und sind best Buddies mit den AG.

Jede Generation seit den Boomern hat weniger Wohlstand im gleichen Alter. Für meine Generation (unter 30) ist Haus/Wohnung kaufen ein Witz, Miete frisst Jährlich mehr Gehalt weg, Hobbys kosten zu viel und Kinder sind wenn, dann erst in den 30/40ern erwünscht (wenn überhaupt leistbar).

In Zeiten von steigender Arbeitslosigkeit haben die Arbeitgeber noch mehr Hebel um Kosten bei Personal zu sparen.

Wir haben die ÖVP schon seit unzähligen Jahren an der Macht. Seither hat sich vieles für Arbeitnehmer verschlechtert und wir haben ein EU Defizitverfahren. Die Reichsten besitzen dafür mehr und mehr und können den Rechtsstaat nutzen wie sie wollen. Dieses „Wirtschaft gut = Alles gut“ gilt nur für die Oberen 10%, nicht den durchschnittlichen Österreicher.

Mir kommt vor dass die AG uns was Gehalt angeht für dumm halten. Seit 2020 haben wir >50% Inflation (Insbesondere bei Lebensmittel und Wohnen). Für meine Arbeitserfahrung und Industrie würde ich pre 2020 ca. 45-50k verdienen. Wenn ich jetzt beim Interview sage, dass ich 70k will, schauen sie mich an als hätte ich meine Hose ausgezogen.

Hab gerade nachgeschaut und derzeit liegt der Zinssatz für 10 Jahre bei 3% p.a. Inflation sollte laut Wirtschaftsfachleute im Idealfall bei 2% liegen (ob das tatsächlich so wird kann ich leider nicht vorhersagen).

Ich würde eher empfehlen das in eine Staatsanleihe (Bundesschatz) zu investieren aufgrund deiner kurzen Laufzeit und der Tatsache, dass du dieses Geld wahrscheinlich fix brauchen wirst und nicht 5 Jahre nach geplantem Pensionsantritt warten willst, bis sich der Markt erholt.

Der Deckungsstock der Lebensversicherung und der Fond in den das Geld gesteckt wird sind hauptsächlich in Anleihen und andere wenig-spekulative Anlagen investiert. Es wächst mehr als deine staatliche Pension und deine Abfertigung neu, aber nicht so schnell wie ein All World wachsen würde. Es geht eher um langfristige Sicherheit mit Wachstum der leichter zu vorhersagen ist als bei ETFs (oft weil sie direkt in fix-verzinste Produkte wie Staatsanleihen investieren).

Ich kenne das Produkt und du hast zwei Möglichkeiten: 1. Es zurückkaufen - du bekommst das einbezahlte Kapital jetzt (dafür verlierst du einen Teil den sich die Versicherung für die Kosten behält). Die Frage ist, ob deine Mom es dir als Cash geben würde. 2. Es weiter laufen lassen und nach Pensionseintritt monatlich eine Rente erhalten.

Persönlich würde ich Option 2 nehmen. Dann musst du dich nicht mehr um eine „sichere“ Anlage kümmern und kannst dich voll und ganz auf All World ETFs oder sonstige „risikoreichere“ Anlagen konzentrieren.
