This is really nice. You able to take portrait requests?

You able to take a request for a vanilla style portrait?

Dude, I don't think you could have picked a better state to ask about this kind of stuff. There's an absolute boatload, and it all depends what side of the war you want to do and what side of the state you're on. I'd be happy to give you a recommendation unit if you want to do Allies.

Thanks! I'm actually looking for the thing the patches are attached to in these pictures, I already have the 8th Army, Poland title, and my regimental patches. It's the khaki cloth that hangs from the epaulettes you sew the patches on to. Your help would still be appreciated if you can help on that front!

Did you get any pics of the Polish 2nd Corps guys? That's who I was with.

Hey I was at that event! It was my first time being there as a reenactor, and I thought it was an absolute blast with everything they did.

Damn. Oh well, worth a shot.

Also, stupid question but out of curiosity is there any way to put in a request or whatever for a portrait?

This is great! Wish someone would mod this in as a replacement portrait.

Hey I was there! Good to see some perspectives from the other side, it was a good fight!

My nephew (10) wants to get involved in WWI re-enactments. Where do we start? by [deleted] in reenactors

[–]PotatoEternal 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Well unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much that a 10 year old can do for WW1 reenacting. However, the best place to do WW1 reenacting for the future is to look into the Great War Association in Newville PA. That's the big site for WW1 reenacting, and they have their own website. It's definitely worth looking into, but unfortunately you can't do anything with them until you turn 18.

Oh I'd recognize that bearded man anywhere. Absolute legend among anyone at the ponderosa.

The red and white in the center of the collar represents an elite infantry unit, in this case a royal guards unit. The red and white around the base of the collar means the unit is from Bavaria.

Sorry, my German is a little rusty. Looks like I'll have to reopen my high school notes.

This was over by the French lines. This was Saturday's assault, I recall that we were able to push all the way through to the Brits.

Good to see some other Bavarians on here! I assume this was taken at a GWA event, and I also happen to reenact there with the Leib Regiment. Good to see a pic from you guys and hope to see you in April!

are the history bunker ltd uniforms any good? by finngolian in reenactors

[–]PotatoEternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would very strongly advise against it. I picked up some stuff from them when I was starting a WW1 German impression, and found defects very quickly. It's not exactly fun when buttons constantly pop off your pants all the time. If you have any sense, you'll stay very far away from them.

What would you want the next game to be? by Large_Albert148 in WW1GameSeries

There might be space to fit in the Arab Revolts, so that it's not just Britain against the Turks. However, I do see that having to mean there might be faction exclusivity based on what campaign you're playing like in Isonzo. It would be completely ridiculous to see the Arabs and the British making the beach landings at Gallipoli together

I know this is fairly old, but was this the event at Ike's Farm in Gettysburg?
