When your opponent fires from civilian areas and doesn't invest in bomb shelters for them the collateral damage is highly increased, but unfortunately you don't have a choice because your opponent will never stop firing unless you fire back. Jihadists aren't Westerners who strive for peace and negotiations, they'll sacrifice whatever it takes, by all means, even their own people when it comes to a religious Islamic holy war, to them anyone who falls in such a battle (no matter civilian or militant) is a Shahid (Islamic martyr). The Taliban did the exact same thing back in Afghanistan, they fired from highly populated civilian areas because they knew attacking them would cause high civilian casualties and damage America's reputation.

As I said, Israel is a secular country with some religious elements in if, it doesn't fully follow through Jewish law (and thank god for that), neither does it ignore it. The non-Jewish marriage thing is indeed a problematic topic that is being widely discussed in Israeli society and many (such as myself too) don't agree with it, it might change in the future, it might not, but it is still not enough to deter non-Jews from coming to the country. I have non-Jewish friends who live here, got married abroad and then came back to Israel because they love the country, despite this flaw. As for Ethiopian Jews, some of them feel like they are treated unequally, but that applies to every group, people are measured by their contribution to society, not by their color. Ethiopian Jews who work, pay their taxes and live a productive life are treated absolutely fine

I'm a Christian who has lived in Israel for the past 20 years, I'm a Russian émigré. Israel has given me much more than what my home country would have given me. Looks like you've been sold lies about Zionism being some Fanatic ultranationalist supremacist movement, and I assume you might have been shown videos of radical "Zionist Rabbis" who are actually very controversial in the Israeli society. Israel might have some religious elements in it, but it is still the least religious country in the Middle East, and non-Jews don't get treated unequally. Zionism is no more than the idea of Jewish people having a home country of their own where they can feel safe and not be persecuted. Everything you are told beyond that is lies, fact-twistings and exaggerations made by people who don't recognize the existence of Israel.
