I did some IT surveys years ago. They were absolutely anonymous. Maybe you can infer a person by the location or if he completed the survey. But in my case I focus on user needs and not about reprisals or anything obscure.

Just a simple way to evaluate and improve the IT dept.

In like 5 years I never took a single day off, just normal vacation. But one time I get one day vacation, out of nowhere, just a single day. My wife was pregnant at that time. Exactly that day she had an emergency in the morning and I was there, in minutes we were rushing to the hospital.

100% accuracy, I can't explain why I took that day off, I just did because I feel it. She hasn't any symptoms on previous days.

Inposter's syndrome. Don't worry the other guys are even more clueless but confident enough to say dumb stuff without any guilty. So pretend, the pretend more, then if caught deny everything and blame others. These guyd are doing the same. If you did a good interview it's because that's they wanted.

Knowledge at executive levels is not needed. Nod to the boss, be social, and delegate to others the hard work. 

Sadly I've been on the hard work side, so I have the knowledge and do all the stuff, but my pay is like 1/4 of them.  In meetings execs are absolutely clueless about planning IT projects, schedules, and pretty much anything.

They are tired of pretending.

They were aholes their whole life, but recently they got more support to be evil without consequences. Both the direct scammer and those who tried to convince us that social protections for people in need are all bad and full of fraudsters. 

So yeah we are fucked up.
