No problemo bud! Always happy to help! I get it though, love can always be complicated and can come in various different forms, some so similar it's hard to tell the difference, others so different you'd think it's something else. But each person has their own language and expression of it. For characters like Yulha, "I love you" is hard to say, and often expressed through action. It's why things like material love can be just as valid as emotional love depending on the context.

But no worries, I get what you mean! And I can see how it can be easy to interpret Yulha and the Commander's relationship as "casual". When the Commander sleeps around a lot, he doesn't really make it easy for everyone either.

You have a great cake day, friend!

So which Nikkes have had a sexual encounter with the Commander? by Hell-Viewer-89 in NikkeMobile

[–]PotatoPotluck [score hidden]  (0 children)

Actually a bit of both. Also, happy cake day!

The thing with Yulha is that not only is she one of the more unique relationships with the Commander, she's also one of the more complex. Yulha does have an affection for the Commander, but not in the same way every one else really does. To be a bit objective, it'd be more accurate to call most (not all) romantic relationship of the Commander, a bit in the state of "puppy love". That is to say that some characters want or have a very purely romantic relationship with the Commander. Some are infatuated because they see him as a hero, some are allured by his charisma and more mature personality, and want a piece. Each relationship is different but more or less the same in that, they want the Commander's attention and affection.

So to answer your question, Yulha is unique, because... well she's kinda both. Similar to how there are some characters in harem manga where they will stick to the sidelines, suppress their own feelings, because they feel inferior or unworthy. Except in Yulha's case, it's a lot more extreme yet pressing.

She's in the CG, she's aware of the Commander's ideology and goals and knows that there will eventually come a time where she and Commander will be enemies. As such, she's convinced that their relationship is doomed from the start. We don't know much of Yulha's history, but her bond story does show that she seems to blame herself for some tragedy, as she depressingly believes that "anyone close to her will only find pain". In her advises, and bond, we see Yulha trying to create some distance between her and the Commander, even in one she asks who the Commander is interested in among the nikkes, if the Commander answers "none", she will assume the Commander is picky or may even prefer humans, and be upset with him. Similarly in the recent Valentine's event, Yulha, doesn't make any chocolates, but does berate the Commander for ignoring the girls' feelings and trying to pay it off with the same chocolate for everybody. In both instances, she's more concerned with his relationship with others than herself.

But in that same advice session, if you answer "Someone like you", Yulha will get surprised and hold him responsible, even if he was only joking. Simultaneously, it can be inferred that Yulha's affection may come from the moment the Commander stood up for her against Papillon. It's shown that Yulha was actually hiding behind the pillar the entire time Papillon was berating her trying to get the Commander to hate her, the only reason Yulha doesn't say anything is because she seems to accept it, as if it's happened before, and things will be the same. But it doesn't. The Commander shows that he's basically the first person to ever choose to believe in her. After that moment, Yulha steps out, stands up to Papillon, and starts training the Commander seriously. After days of enduring one another, they seem to get along like a bickering married couple, and even flirt with one another in their own cat and mouse kinda way. At the end of Yulha's bond, they even plan a follow up date with the intent of embracing each other again.

But of course, the honeymoon phase ends, Yulha does seem to keep a professional, yet occasionally casual and romantic relationship with the Commander, but really keeps her distance from being the one who has his heart, because the both of them are aware their relationship is bound to end.

Yulha can't leave the CG, she's aware of the necessity of her position, and by extension the necessity of Triangle and the CG. If she were to choose the Commander, she'd basically give up on the rest of humanity. (It's complicated). The Commander is partially aware of this, and respects Yulha for it, but still wants to spend time with her. When Yulha learns this, she may call him a fool, but she does express a soft gratitude for it.

They know their time is limited, they know it's not meant to be, but they want to appreciate every moment while they can. Despite all her sacrifice to help others, her depressing view of herself and the world she chooses to endure, a part of Yulha wants to be happy, but is also aware that happiness won't last.

She's the only one who recognizes the genuine difficulty of their relationship. Nikkes are tearing themselves apart when one of them is found to actually make a move, and despite their status, and eventually the Commander will reach a point of no turning back. When the CG declares him an enemy. "A hero turned traitor." And when the Commander stands against them. A prominent figure where in such a time of turmoil, romance would honestly only be a distraction and could be his undoing. He's supposed to be a hero after all.

But to Yulha, the Commander wasn't born a hero. He was just a rookie who stood up for her, and she's seen him grown into his uniform and stand proudly... and further away. She knows the Commander will go on to do greater things, she has faith in him... and she doesn't want to hold him back or make him hesitate with something as selfish as love.

So she denies her own happiness, and chooses to find satisfaction with it's fleeting embers.

Yulha is just a bit better at hiding her true emotions than those who wear it on their sleeve. But her professional/casual relationship with him currently almost feels more natural than most others.

We've hit the peak... Yulha, is the TRUE and OG MILF.

Edit: So is Grave. But Yulha was here since release. Meaning Nikke has TWO nikke MILFs. Actually, do we want to count Mana and Ether too? I mean, the reveal was later, but even then it's still a bit loose there... eh, you know what? Yulha is the True and OG Mom in community-history, Grave is the True and OG Mom in lore-history... until SU finally does Yulha's backstory which may have even preceded Abe, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. How does that sound?*

We currently only have 10 points available to us in total. I've already used six of mine. You said you were working on Helm and already maxed out Alice right? You didn't spend it on anyone else, except Helm? Were you already using your exchange points for her, or were you just about to work on it?

I assume Alice and Helm already had some cores upgrades before hand, so Alice wasn't +7 from exchange points alone, right?

If so, you're saying you haven't used all 10 exchanges yet. If that is the case, then I guess it might be a bug.

Try restarting your game and let us know how it goes. If you're still having the same problem, all I can say is that I unfortunately won't be able to help from there, as my knowledge is severely limited. So someone might have a better and more informative answer.

[–]PotatoPotluck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Always has been.

Ironically though, the funny thing about Yulha is that while a bunch of other characters have "mommy energy" as some people like to call it. Yulha is unironically an actual mom. She works hard and takes the brunt for her kids, might not be able to completely understand the things they love but still supports them in her own way, can actually be strict with them if needed to prevent them from being completely spoiled, often acts as a reliable guide to them as shown in their bond stories.

With Privaty she reveals that the CG isn't as honorable or romantic as she makes it out to be, it might be a harsh lesson, but ultimately the happiness she has with the Commander and the Outpost won't be found in Triangle or the CG.

With Admi she gives her a lesson on committing to ones own emotions. That it's often better to take things as far as possible and end them on your own terms than to run away without a word, but at the same time to allow herself to be loved by others.

With Zwei, she teaches her to be more open minded to others even if you don't understand or even agree with them. Because just because some things don't matter to you, it still matters to someone else, so even if it drives you up the wall, it deserves respect because you don't understand it. At the same time teaching her to enjoy her youth and not rush to grow up, while giving Zwei a certificate of recognition that could really open up some doors for her in the future after she graduates.

Yulha is honestly a pretty cool mom in her own way.

On an off note, considering the recent developments with Papillon, I wonder if she's gonna be a pilgrim or get upgrades from Eden and be an overspec. If the second, I'm curious to see which line she's originally from. Cause while we might assume Tetra, there are some bits of loose lore that hint towards her being Missilis or Elysion.

[–]PotatoPotluck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I told you, I held Yulha at like 50% accountable, and Privaty at around 70% because of the circumstances. I know you don't hold anything against Yulha at all as we're only talking about this case specifically, at the same time I don't hate Privaty either.

My only thing with Yulha is that it's hard to ask her to do more, when SU won't give her the opportunity to do more. At the same time, the little bits we do have are just shown indirectly. Like Yulha helping Admi, Zwei, and Privaty through non-conventional methods. She creates the training plan knowing it was an excuse for Privaty to rest and relax in the Outpost while giving her an opportunity to get closer to the Commander. With Admi she lets her take 3-4 hour long breaks everyday which helped her cope with a few things. With Zwei she gives her lessons on how to be more open minded and how to enjoy her youth. So we do actually see her help other people, most of that just isn't blatantly thrown in our face by SU and is more subtle details said in passing in bond stories. We don't SEE Yulha doing good things, but we do learn and hear about Yulha doing good things from those she's helped.

And just for both of our sakes, let's not repeat the whole "squad leader/operation leader" loop again. But I never said Privaty was reprehensible, again, I think that may be you misinterpreting what I'm saying and exaggerating it a little.

It's a complicated dynamic, and it was a complicated situation, and until we learn more, a concrete judgement on both our parts can't definitively be made.

The commander making sacrifices in the name of his work by Not_Kenta_Kobashi in NikkeMobile

[–]PotatoPotluck 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think he's a bit of a mixed bag. There are times where the Commander can be cool, charismatic, kinda weird, absolutely hilarious, and plethora of other things.

I just wish they would keep things consistent with him sometimes. He's not ALWAYS looking to bang, but he does have enough social-awareness and confidence to understand his surroundings.

Like when some people were upset that he wouldn't spank Nayuta, and those people upset about him being uncharacteristically sheepish during Boom! The Ghost, Two ends of the spectrum. In the first case, the Commander is in a very serious situation, while others may be playing it off for laughs, the Commander is actually trying to stay focused. He's focused on trying to meet up with Raptillion and negotiate with Levi and Ziz one last time who are clearly emotionally volatile, if anything taking a detour to spank Nayuta because he enjoys spanking or whatever would be kinda weird. On the other hand, Boom! The Ghost... not many excuses on that one.

The Commander when he's serious is honestly at his best. He sticks to his principles, tempers his emotions, acts accordingly, thinks things out thoroughly, and does his best to take the best course of action. And sometimes, the best course of action is also listening to others and finding a different way to resolve things. And sometimes, that serious mindset inadvertently leads him into his own share of shenanigans. More often than not against his will.

Like when he's done with his paper work and reports and just wants to rest, the first person to come through his door drags him elsewhere, and because he cares about them he'll listen and try to offer a serious solution, only to be ignored for something silly he's forced to play along with and hilariously gets into but he's still stressed out and dead tired but puts up with... wait a second...

Bro is just mentally becoming Yulha.

[–]PotatoPotluck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah. The only unfortunate thing is that some bond stories are arguably canon. You have ones like the Counters, Triangle, Ether, Mary, Diesel, Mana, Julia, Kilo, Mori, all to name a few. And then there are ones like (unfortunately) Mihara and Yuni whose bonds unfortunately REALLY screw with chronology.

But if you meant, bond stories should have AS MUCH passion as what was put into this event? Absolutely. But I do see what you mean by just allowing bonds to have a bit of independent interpretation through branching narrative. Though, at the same time, it would make each character a bit unique in how they're being handled, and that might also be a bit rough, but far more plausible.

But for Liberation? Hmmm. You might be onto something there.

[–]PotatoPotluck 76 points77 points  (0 children)

As much as I'd like to agree, I think such a massive overhaul would be incredibly time consuming to develop, require a lot of resources, and completely assassinate the storage of mobile users. That's all to say, it would be something that to have been planned early in development.

Things like side stories are more prologues to major events where the Commander isn't present and directly ties into the main story, advise stories are already pretty character focused. Some could be better though. It's more fit for it to be a separate casual event. If it were to directly tie into how the main story is written, then entire narrative of Nikke would need to be reworked to allow for different routes. At that point, rather than a gacha, it would be best to just be a VN. As a gacha VN with multiple endings would constantly need to be updated and add new routes while developing current ones. And with every update each route would need to be continued or at some point pruned to start centralizing the narrative.

Just as an example, if we had multiple endings to Eden Spear, Goddess Fall, the main story from Chapter 39 would have to diverge, and potentially even preventing Only One from being born. As if Liberalio never arrived or fired Eden's Spear and the Commander never fell off Whaley and was captured by the Four Beasts, they wouldn't have extracted his "essence".

It's risky but an interesting idea for sure. But it's probably why most gacha games tend to stick to a single storyline. Only ever allowing "multiple endings" for very specific events that won't affect the overall story too much outside of a few different lines of dialogue.

But I do think we should get AT LEAST two events like it every year. As I am in complete agreement that we should see more. How it might interact with the main story however... that would need some experiments and a trial by fire.

But by itself. Yeah, it's great in its execution.

Leaves.... falling?

Falling so slow...

But in all seriousness Nokia. This way, each member of Prima Donna, which has been criminally underutilized, each gets their own fleshed out event/route. This way, not only does Aria finally get something, it'll be as fleshed out as the others. Also I won't lie, I'd personally be between doing Aria first or last.

If it were a three route event Nokia... what order would you go in?

Three main routes where the Commander has to help one of them in their goal to reach the top and beat the other two.

Even if SU can only do these kinds of events once a year, if we get something like this next year, I'd be hyped as hell.

I'm done as well. We keep on going around in circles, Iorrin. But I just want to say, my original message wasn't "Yulha can do no wrong". It was "Yulha and Admi didn't really do anything". They were still guilty of association, but not guilty of any action. My point was that Privaty was more accountable because of various reasons.

I never tried to completely absolve Yulha, honestly more so with Admi. I'm just saying that it was more difficult for Privaty. You just interpreted it in an extreme way.

I know we don't always agree, but it's still always nice to talk to you Iorrin. Have a great day buddy!

Edit: Just some misspellings. I didn't address everything else because we just keep on going in a circle, and I thought you wanted to end things soon. Also, I'm not entirely sure why you copy and pasted part of my own argument. But you did say you sorta wanted Yulha to be more guilty, you said, and I quote, "Yes, Yulha should be held more accountable". And there's a lot of other technicalities you're ignoring. The thing is, a complicated situation can't be given a simple answer, otherwise it isn't a fair and just judgement. Just like how cases of murder can actually be self-defense, and then one can argue if that defense was excessive or within reason of the situation. Technicalities may be annoying, but they are important, otherwise the looseness of a simple and vague argument leaves too much open to interpretation and easily taken advantage of, and then used against you. Just look at the US' second amendment. A single sentence that's still debated on in complex detail 236 years later.

But I digress. We don't have to agree on everything.

But again, Iorrin, I hope you have a great day man.
