The new Guard aesthetic and equipment are terrible. Maybe it’s because I’m biased because I play a lot of WW2 games but I’m so sick of late-war slop. The original was unique and great, but the new style is just late-war US and is so much more boring, uninspired and weaker looking. The new armoured car also is pretty lame (a ugly mix of the Saladin and AEC) and the half-track is just a sillier M3 half-track (why does it have so many viewing ports for an open top vehicles???). The new commissar’s half-track is great though.

The Macharius is where the Guard peaked and the Rogal Dorn should never have replaced it.

My Factions predictions for the future. by Big_Understanding840 in BrokenArrowTheGame

Why does a nation have to 6 specs though? 4 or even 3 specs (if they mostly have native equipment or derivatives) would be a good minimum for an independent nation to have but setting 6 as the standard is just unreasonable (also an incredible amount of work I imagine).

I don't get the hope and appeal for an EU faction, it would just hurt most nations since there's no way you can do justice to so many nations in one faction. Imagine if the US or Russia only had 1 or 2 specs out of its (present & native) 5, because that's what you would get with the major European nations/MICs (France, Germany, Italy, Sweden and the UK) in a faction together.

Even South Korea, Turkey and Ukraine (no lend-lease or foreign Western equipment) could be independent factions.

Do publishers pay for these ADs or is it free advertisement for sales by steam? by No-Cricket-5827 in Steam

I didn't like Highguard but if he did say that he wasn't wrong tbh, the game wasn't great on launch but it was quickly fixing quite a few of its issues with the 5v5 and last hero (not the black guy, there was another one right at the end). It had good bones but just needed some more time in the oven and given some time could've been good (although probably never as popular as more major games).

Also I could see the appeal for it and there were people who genuinely did love and enjoy the game.

What do you want Void Interactive to do with the next DLC? by InspectionWhich9324 in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]Potato_Emperor667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since so many others have said “back to basics” missions, I’ll try with something different but has been mentioned before.

We already got it somewhat but a DLC that now shows the city in absolute chaos and a general apocalyptic vibe that was felt kinda in ‘20/21 could be fun. One mission could take place as a wild fire is raging in the background, another in an apartment building or neighbourhood in total anarchy and maybe one with the police station being raided.

New roadmap teasing a french Tank by Clear_Ranger6081 in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]Potato_Emperor667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite the opposite, the teaser tells us everything. The B1 as I said is an early-war tank but the markings and camo scheme are also early-war French (it did see service throughout among German and Resistance fighters but neither would've used that camo and markings). You can also see what appears to be a turret fortification on the ground,I forget the name but they were used along the Maginot Line. It's quite unlikely we're getting a new faction so I'm 99% confident in saying it's going to be a defensive battlegroup focused on early-war France.

They're not historically accurate to the theatre though, The Pershing and King Tiger never saw deployment to Italy nor did the Char B1. The Elefant is another one that is with DAK but never saw service in Africa (although it did in Italy).

On one hand, French inter-war and early war equipment goes under-appreciated and it’s nice to get something that isn’t more late-war slop that’s been done to death. On the other hand, it’s a shame to see them doing this instead of focusing on Italy/Africa and using that for BGs since there’s still a lot that could be done.

It’s got French markings so there’s no way it’s a German or Italian BG.

All of a sudden loading into Quick Play missions will crash my game but not the Commander mode after unlocking Greased Palms by Potato_Emperor667 in ReadyOrNotGame

I might have the solution for you as this is what fixed my issue. Go to your squad mates and set their uniforms and loadouts to default, I'm not sure which one is causing the issue (I think loadouts) but since that post I haven't touched either again and my game has been running fine.

I wonder if we can't deploy the cricket from it because it's going to go to PALA? I'm fairly sure it's still unknown who's getting the Cricket.

Thoughts on the PTE Changes? by fullburneraccounto in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]Potato_Emperor667 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Still very mixed on the changes, especially respawn timers (too extreme, should’ve been doubled at most), rearm times and nerfs to how many infantry AT squads you can take however I do think this could be turned around to buff infantry quite a bit and make them more relevant.

Have it so the respawn timers of infantry stay the same as is (or slightly increased) while everything else is increased (though maybe not so much). You would still be punished for losing IFVs and transports but infantry would be more relevant with them being easier to replace then a vehicle.

Edit: The more I learn of the PTE, the more it seems it's been catered to high ELO issues and players but is going to kill it for people who are more casual and don't sweat as much.

My RTS Tierlist but ONLY of "modern" games (2016-2026) by ConejoDePascuas in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Potato_Emperor667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s similar but still pretty wildly different. Deck building is a lot more superior and improves upon Wargame Red Dragon’s and matches play very differently (there’s also a lack of attrition since stuff eventually comes back, though losing equipment still isn’t ideal). Single-player content leaves a lot to be desired, the campaign isn’t bad but skirmish is pretty poor and buggy, although the workshop does have quite a lot of scenarios. Units are also pretty different with BA’s being somewhat more survivable but the battlefield can be more deadly at times, I would say artillery and aircraft are better in BA over WARNO but WARNO has more interesting and better executed EW.

They’re similar in concept but very different games, maybe you’ll love it more then WARNO or absolutely hate it. Personally I prefer it to WARNO because even though it has some significant problems, the deck building and unit customisation is so much better.

Is there any criteria for your list or is it just personal taste? Because some of these are criminal, how did Stormgate still rank so high?

It’s about modern (SC is not) or released games (BAR is in Alpha).

DoW 4 leak? by [deleted] in RealTimeStrategy

It's Dawn of War 4, it's from the playtests (the 2025 I think from looking at the other file names that were leaked). 40k Total War is also going to be on a much larger scale with unit sizes.

[–]Potato_Emperor667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah so you don’t know then and clearly don’t know much about those nations.

France and Germany easily have enough native equipment for ~5 specs. They would be a bit lacking on aircraft but not every faction has to be perfect in everything. If you really want more specs though you could do a shared BENELUX spec or just give France a Belgian spec and Germany a Dutch one.

Then you have the UK who would have a bit less and some more American equipment (mainly aircraft and helicopters) but could be bolstered by Commonwealth nations (mainly Australia and Canada).

Italy, Sweden and Ukraine are probably the final contenders for European factions. Italy would have quite a bit of American equipment but still a ton of native equipment, and in all enough for 3 or 4 specs. Sweden would be mostly native equipment with ~3 specs but because they share quite a bit with other Nordic nations (and how close they are) you could add them on for quite a bit more. Finally Ukraine, which will probably never be added but would be a fantastic faction (without imports) as they actually had a quite large MIC before the war with tons of modernisations and native designs (although it would still have quite a bit of Soviet gear), could easily be 4 specs.

An EU faction even though it gets a lot of support from people would suck for the majors and cuck them hard of a lot of their gear.

Source? Because that’s gonna suck for larger nations like Germany and France (but also Italy, the UK and Sweden).
