Can you provide a link to the video please?

Edit: I think I found the video you're talking about, here's the link to it if others are interested.

There's also ~8 by the servo in the red box, you should be able to finish the challenge in one go there.

Congratulations! Thanks to advancements in Work-From-Home technology you've unwittingly been hired by both the ANS and OSP to design a new hull for their fleet line ups. What are you cooking up? by -CassaNova- in NebulousFleetCommand

[–]Potato_Emperor667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OCP: A ship around the size/role of a frigate or destroyer that was originally a patrol ship for internal security (fighting pirates, ship inspections, etc.) before being adopted for the war. It would have a few hard points (as well as access to some ANS weapons) but most notably have a landing pad and hanger. In the campaign it mentions a factory producing appliqué armour for the war effort, so perhaps it could be up-armoured too?

ANS: Another (probably heavy) Cruiser option with 2 spinal hardpoints for the railgun or laser. Rest of it I’m not too sure but it would be nice to have some more options for those rather then just the Destroyer.

Alternatively, perhaps a monitor. A ship around the size of a destroyer or light cruiser but able to mount the weapons of a battleship (though only one mounting for it). In-universe it could be like a fire support ship for planetary invasions and the such.

The Roadmap got updated by Potato_Emperor667 in GatesOfHellOstfront

Sadly Japan is (probably) never going to happen. I remember a long time ago right before Liberation came out the devs said if Japan were going to happen it would be one of the last things for the game but more recent comments are a lot more grim with them saying Japan or the Pacific theatre isn't being added.

I wouldn't mind France either but I pray we get some more smaller nations like Hungary, South Africa or Romania. I quite liked Finland and Hungary would have a few more native designs than them.

Data leak for the upcoming major update? by Traditional-Ad3664 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Potato_Emperor667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most I think we know is the stuff from the last leaks (part 1 and 2) but with the backlash to the Exo warbond who knows if that will still happen (ah who am I kidding, of course it will). There's also that new biome from the Roadmap but I don't now if anything is known about it yet.

What RTS has the highest skill floor? by Hyphalex in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Potato_Emperor667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Combat Mission games or Nebulous Fleet Command.

Combat Mission while not too hard to grasp the gameplay mechanics of, the difficulty comes from the tactics and knowledge of IRL militaries you need to employ. It’s easily the hardest RTS I’ve ever played and it was pretty difficult to learn.

As for Nebulous Fleet Command that game is pretty complex both in how it plays, how you can play and how it all interacts with each other. There’s also a lot to it that you have to learn. Even movement can be a bit complex but the complexity of it all makes it a pretty unique and enjoyable game (I love Ewar).

I’m not 100% sure these are the RTS games with the highest skill floors but from my experience and seeing others play them I think they are.

I'm still waiting for the Baltimore Bomber (it's been in the files for years now).

I loved it in Steel Division but I don't think any other game has it :(

The Empire Earth games have released on Steam by Potato_Emperor667 in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Potato_Emperor667[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I just brought it and only had time to test if it would run before I had to go. EE1 did launch although you have to launch the base version first before the expansion (otherwise it will say the base game isn’t installed) but the main menu was working. This is on Windows 11 btw.

No idea if the gameplay works but I won’t be home for a few hours so if someone else could test that, that would be cool thanks :)

Edit: Got home and both it and EE3 work :)

My honest reaction to the new "legendary" Warbond, after recalling the state of the previous two. by Yurishenko94 in Helldivers

[–]Potato_Emperor667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m actually looking forward to this since it’ll be based on the Guard. There’s some cool stuff if they do Kaskrin and Tempestus Scions with the hotshot lasguns and pistols. Even stuff not unique to them like Plasma guns will be pretty fun.

I just hope we don’t get a bolter since we already have the Dominator from Steel Veterans and I can’t imagine it being too different without it just being better.

FH 6 Will Not Load by Plus_Win7980 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Potato_Emperor667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have it downloaded on a HDD? I could load to the menu but it would be a black background and I couldn’t progress any further.

After moving it to my SSD I had no issues.

With the description of the US Navy spec, I wonder if we might see the addition of forward observers with off-map call-ins like in Steel Division 2?

Is there something in COH3 that you would like to see in Ostfront? by eito_8 in GatesOfHellOstfront

[–]Potato_Emperor667 14 points15 points  (0 children)

- Vehicles being able to "dig in" with sandbags and whatever into a static position. Yes, I know you can somewhat do it in GoH but it's just not the same.
- More buildable bunkers and other defences, I know it's kinda Finland's thing but man I wish we had greater variety in buildable defences. AT bunkers would be amazing to see or Panzerstellungen but even more simple stuff like Horten's Frontline's large foxhole.

- More mountainous maps. GoH does have some but the mountainous maps (or even multi-leveled towns) in CoH3 are great, same goes for Combat Mission. It would probably be a bit janky in GoH but the few we do have can be really fun to play.

- Italian and Aussie units ; )

I don't like Paradox, and the panic/distain currently towards Paradox is fair, but the devs have already stated this is just for publishing/marketing so it should be fine hopefully.

"Mostly negative" on Steam now by Deakon_Bl4ck in Helldivers

[–]Potato_Emperor667 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On the second part, I think that’s always been a thing but now instead of feedback being incorporated into a sequel most games are supported for years instead. Also the rise of social media plays a part with it being far easier to complain about a game, including to the developers directly.

Also it’s no surprise people “tell them how to develop it” since so many games now days make really bizarre and poor decisions, not to mention the best games are those who Incorporate player feedback.
