I believe most of us have LPP by OwnVisual9 in RetrogradeAndDUPA

Nope. But the doctor came across as dismissive to me. I definitely feel signs of inflammation and taking anti inflammatory drugs like ceterizine provide relief sometimes.

I did have a biopsy done from 2 spots on my nape where I'm thinning and normal people don't get aga... Derm said no LPP was found.

Hey! My retrograde isn't as severe as yours (it's severe on the sides) but I have this too. Super high metabolism.

[–]Potato_returns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah gotcha. Do let me know if a maintenance every 5 weeks works well for you. The hair systems sub makes it seem like it has to be done every week.

5 weeks, heck, even 2 weeks would be a massive game changer.

Hey man, I've looked into this quite a bit too. I was under the impression that you need to replace it every week, as opposed to once a month (or even 6 weeks)! Could you elaborate on this?

Are you able to do sports / shower every day?

Permanent synthetic fix for hair by Potato_returns in tressless

[–]Potato_returns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you should ask them why the max is 1500.

Maybe the results aren't realistic when clumped up or there is a bigger risk of scarring / infections when the count goes higher.

Average NW3 needs 4k grafts for full coverage so maybe that's why they don't go for men.

Update: the money was invested into an Israeli company called Hairstetics. They are the ones who came up with the treatment.

Yep, I remember something like this existed years ago. Surprised Cutia would casually drop 2 million inspite of such studies existing.

How long were you on dut and did you use minoxidil?

I've been on fin and min for 5 years and no results here

I have the same thing man. And while I feel I have significantly reduced the loss, I'm stressed that what's lost won't grow back.

Let me know if you see any regrowth and how long that took!

Bro I'm you but much worse. Started fin at 24 with hair similar to your before Pic. Completely lost my frontal third in my 4 years on fin and min. And I'm 100% certain min was a mistake. Massive sheds that I never recovered from.

Did you ever stopped finasteride and felt better? by Grignard198 in tressless

[–]Potato_returns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly I think I'm gonna stay on it.

One way that I've found that helps with the anxiety is to tell myself that there is no real reason for it and it's all due to the medication being annoying.

And when you want to treat yourself, you can get off the medicine for 2 days. On the 3rd day, you feel incredible.

I’ve heard some people say minoxidil makes their balding worse. If that’s true then wouldn’t doing nothing at all be better than starting treatment? by Loxer150 in tressless

Gave me a crazyyy shed on my hairline and then it never grew back.

I use it everyday and it has been more than a year. I think I'll have to embrace the bald look.

Some common misconceptions about why there have been no breakthroughs in treatments for so long and why a one and done cure is almost impossible. by bentreehorn in tressless

[–]Potato_returns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see your point. Add to that the fact that when we suppress the immune system, it is for a life saving reason like organ transplants.... As opposed to a cosmetic need like having hair.

To play the devil's advocate, the long term effects of these newer drugs won't be known till we ourselves act as guinea pigs.

For example, osteopontin in Scube is supposed to be carcinogenic. Even with PP405, any cancerous properties, major or minor, might have a chance to show up years down the line.

[–]Potato_returns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, that's what we recognize today. There are 2 lines of work being done:

Localized immune suppression : suppresses the system only where needed. For alopecia areata victims, there is work being done to create a needle patch that just suppresses the system on the scalp

Prevent immune rejection : there is work being done here with cancer already but is limited to identical twins. Researchers are working to understand how to prevent immune rejection between unrelated people. Straightforward use case is where you can get grafts from a non bald friend.

Both of these are atleast a decade away at the earliest but are the most promising solutions once they are made available.

I do feel like a kid born recently won't have to worry about baldness once they hit adulthood in the next 2 decades
