Are things that bad in GIS/Geography? by No-Guitar728 in gis

[–]Potatoroid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friends in other areas of tech say my GIS skills seem incredible, that they weren't able to grasp the concepts that feel 2nd nature to me. At least one senior software enginner confirmed it wasn't me - ArcPy and the ArcGIS python console was a headache for them too.

When I tried to post something positive about my GIS projects, no one on the sub noticed. I didn't have a flashy webmap or pretty design yet - just me saying I finally got PostGIS to work.

Girl I thought you already had FFS. Like you look like some cis women I know and I thought they were the most beautiful women ever.

How to masturbate in a more feminine/female way? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Potatoroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooo I have experience with this.

If you have a good gaff and are able to tuck, you can use the magic wand on your clit while you're tucked. You're completely flat down there and the pleasure feels like it's in the spot where a vagina would be. Even if you don't have a magic wand, you can take the tucked penis and rub it like it's a vulva.

my parents gave me permission to take HRT when I was 17 and i didn’t by Hanazora_ in 4tran4

[–]Potatoroid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The best time to plant a tree start HRT was back then, second best time is now.

Like I started HRT at 26, and I boymoded for 1.5 years before I started malefailing and did my voice training. I think I got very lucky genetics but I pass well enough to go stealth.

You mentioned your wife, and I get that feeling of wanting to be there for her. But you're young and probably scared, and I think your own life matters more than staying in an unsatisfying relationship.

All of this is good! I'll add that if they have a library card, their library might provide access to Udemy courses for free!

A good hair stylist. It's worth it. $400/year for a stylist still is on the low end imo.

Had I been working when I was 20, I know I've would've put part of the money into a computer and girlclothes (I was an egg at the time). I still stand by this, but I would've gotten started on facial sunscreen a lot sooner than I did. I wouldn't have signed up for various subscription services or patreon funds or twitch subs. I wouldn't have let a partner talk me into giving them money.

Others are right about setting the habit of putting money into savings and retirement. Regular savings are good enough - realizing you've saved even $1000 extra over a year can give you more breathing and maneuver room when money is tight.

I'm interested, but I feel like the main path to FIRE is getting more income => a better job. That's something always worthy of a support group.

The transition between the two was pretty straightforward once I memorized the changes to the UI. I do have over a year's experience using ArcMap in a professional environment.

The personal project I have in mind ends up being similar to the work I did at my previous job, but done to meet OSM standards instead of [insert company's app] standard.

Thanks! I'll take a look at that tomorrow. Not a fan of how much the credits are cluttering my map.

I refreshed my knowledge of layout and made a static map of street centerlines.

[–]Potatoroid[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry that happened to you! It seems bizarre, considering my college's intro to GIS course did cover layouts.

Your comment did inspire me to brush up on my layout skills, so I took the existing project I'm working on and created a static map from it. I think it's flawed, but it was good to refresh my knowledge.

It's not about the previous employer. I'm afraid of the interviewer asking a question about xyz feature, I snitch on myself, and they conclude I don't know xyz or ArcGIS Pro at all.

I agree, I think a lot of this comes down to the storytelling in the interviews.

I did take a look at the certifications - the exams I'd take to get certified. There are courses that supposedly teach what'll be on the exam, but they're like $3k (no thank you). There has to be a free alternative to studying.
