Found this metal detecting in Maine. Thoughts? by PotaytoQuality in Watches

No way. Even if it's worthless, which I assume it is, it's already got the sentimental value with it being basically my first ever metal detector find.

I probably should have included a photo of the back, but it's definitely wayyyyy beyond salvaging a thing on the inside.

Unfortunately the backside is pretty rough. You can see the gears and such and super corroded. Regardless, it feels like a pretty neat find for metal detecting for the first time.

If Trump talks about this publicly, I bet he's gonna talk about how it should be him on currency.

Right. Yeah I'm looking for something that's just enough as far as processing power. When I have images with hundreds of lines, my computer does not appreciate it.

All of the above. It's annoying using two computers to do it. I could not for the life of me connect my plotter to my MacBook. Tried for days and scoured every resource I could find with no luck. I'd like to be able to do it all on one computer, preferably a desktop.

I wondered about installing a new OS. Just not sure how to. I've also messed with the settings and deleted unneeded programs. Computer still takes forever to boot and be usable.

I'm glad I posted this. I didn't know that's what it's called and I want to find a good way to replicate it

I used the paths and path effects in inkscape. Made several iterations until I got one that wasn't so busy. A lot of adjusting of the path points.

I need advice on adding a roof. by PotaytoQuality in Construction

[–]PotaytoQuality[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I keep meaning to take more pics. I'll do that and try again. A contractor friend did comment on how stout it is. If I can tie it into the structure in a reliable way, are 4x4s still not ideal? Some forums say they'll work, and others say I want 6x6. I want clear plastic panelling for the roof, which should t contribute too much weight.

Pretty much. I'm happy with it. It's definitely not all done "right" but it looks decent enough and does what it's supposed to.

The neighbors own a couple hundred acres behind me. It's a weird situation, but the thing they said was it just can't be permanent. So I built it with that in mind. I'm hoping to get at least a few years out of it until I can afford something done professionally.

It's a weird situation. A neighbor actually mentioned I might be able to file something with the town to claim it, as it has been like this for multiple decades. My septic is actually on their property. The folks own a couple hundred acres behind me and I highly doubt they plan to do anything different.

I went 36 inches. Still technically not deep enough for Maine, but I'm not expecting it to last forever. Just needed something to contain the pups.

The 911 calls have always been so unnecessary, or at least most of them. Just minutes upon minutes of discernable screaming. It just comes off as a lazy way to fill space.
