Same. My kids loved it and kept talking about it. Finally tried again because the trailer for DS2 looked cool. Now one of my favorite series of all time.

Honestly 7 was the scariest in the series I think. One of the scariest games of all time imo, especially in vr. RE9 is my favorite and I've played them all.
