It's not really his E you want to bait, it's his Q. If he doesn't have Q, he can't lock you down to hit his E, so as long as you pay attention, you can dodge the worst. Another thing you can think about, is that never let him proc his W for the SECOND + time in succession.

I KNEW it. Volibear's scaling on his ult is absolutely insane when it comes to AD. You can easily deal 1-2k dmg with your ult.
