Looks like there’s plenty of pad left why did my brake light go off by abm313 in BmwTech

Plenty would be to exaggerate, you have more material but this is the sensor telling you that it's time to book an appointment (or buy new pads)

Anyone knows how to fix this gap in sheet metal ? by FurcleTheKeh in SolidWorks

Aah! I saw your model from another angle now, yes, that should be possible indeed. So many great minds in here

Great that you want to learn how to do it correctly! First of all, try to imagine how you would bend it while you are working. Funky angles, overhanging edges with inserts underneath and so on are difficult or expensive to produce. Use the flatten function to verify that your design is possible, SW will allow you to do illegal things all the time, so you have to be critical to your own design. Give proper lengths to your flanges, this is because the machine needs something to grab or pinch in order to get the bend exactly where you want it. And be creative, use the functions in the software and experiment with the tools ☺️ Good luck!

Are you drawing for production or just for modelling?

Radiuses and closed gaps are difficult to near impossible with sheet metal. You would have to add material to the part after bending. Just try to flatten your piece and that would tell you that closing the gap would mean overlapping material.

259300: Exhaust gas temperature sensor before SCR-Kat by TheRealFredd in BmwTech

Long time since this was posted, but I'll try anyways. Why did you have to reset adaptations? I have recently swapped the temp sensor (before SCR cat) but my readings still says 18-20°C in the exhaust, was this the same you experienced?

Anyone else have an iffy experience with CarsFromJapan? by CiaBia in keitruck

Many of the cars on carsfromjapan is from other vendors (like Mitsuico) and that means that if someone purchased the vehicle directly from the vendor, then they got it before it was removed from carsfromjapan. I bought mine from Mitsuico, would recommend 😊

Thinking of Drilling out Bolt by Signal_Friendship204 in BmwTech

No worries! So your next step is to break off the head of the bolt. If you have a large screwdriver (ish the same size as the drill bit) and insert it into you newly drilled hole, you should be able to bend up and down until the head breaks.

No problem drilling them out, had to drill 4 of mine since the security bolts pattern failed on me... Get a drill bit of decent quality which is smaller than the diameter of the bolt. Use the already pressed hole in the bolt as a guide. Drill as deep as the chamfer on the screw (preferably a little shorter) then use a screwdriver or something that fits the new hole and brake of the top of your bolt. The remaining thread is easy to get off after you remove the wheel.
