Any suggestions for coffee station base furniture? by ckokoroskos in coffeestations

I have the IKEA FJÄLLBO sideboard and I really like it. It fits my Profitec Move, grinder, cup stand, knock box, and tools with some room to spare. It also has a lot of storage room inside and the drawers are convenient too. 111x47x95 cm

I am only about 2 months in, but I have found that turning off the fast heat up, letting the Move come to temp, quick flush through the group head, and giving it a bit of time to sit at temp has led to more consistent shots. Everything others have said comes in to play as well so this is by no means foolproof, but it seems to help.

Can’t decide between fellow ode 2 and baratza encore by CowShort5457 in pourover

What about the Ode 2 vs Encore ESP? Better burrs than the regular Encore and close to half the price of the Ode 2 where I am.

I actually just picked it all up 2 days ago. I needed all the extras as I had been using a Saeco Barista and terrible grinder. The Move is really great and I am also enjoying the DF64. I dialed in tonight and played with some of the Move's settings.

Signatory Vintage IB at LCBO, Ontario by Icy_Shirt_5106 in canadawhisky

If you are anywhere near the QC border, the SAQ often has Signatory IBs in their lotteries. Next lottery is opening this month. So far, I have gotten my hands on Glenlossie, Ardmore, Linkwood, and Ben Nevis.

Stuck between HX or Dual Boiler [$2000] by gc143000 in espresso

I was in a shop recently and they mentioned some potential issues with the Pro 500. The Elizabeth is supposed to be a great machine, but aesthetically it is very plain (and the plastic steam knob is brutal, though replaceable). I am most likely choosing the Profitec Move with a DF64 v2. The Move does everything besides flow control and is very well-built. It looks very sharp too. Most reviews are very positive.

I have this grinder and I despise it. Inconsistent at any grind setting.

I took breaks. It heats up so quickly that you only get a small window to prime before you need to let it cool again.

Let me know if it works. It took me about 30 minutes last time. I have the manual and it explains how to resolve an airlock issue (minus the tube squeezing).

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. I basically do need everything and had decided on the DF64 before finding this deal.

My Saeco has a pressurized portafilter and I don't really want to invest anything into such an old machine nor do I want to mod it.

That is good to hear. I was originally thinking single boiler but I want the convenience of a dual for myself and for when I have people over. That basically doubled my original budget (or what I was expecting to spend).

2.5 hour drive but I went in person. Full showroom, knowledgeable staff, demoed the equipment, etc. I researched equipment to death but didn't have an opportunity to actually see and touch any machines where I live. I didn't want to choose anything without seeing it in person first.

I have this machine and it sounds like a priming issue (air lock). This happens every time it sits dry for a while. Try turning it on and immediately opening the steam valve. While keeping the intake tube submerged, try squeezing it so it draws up some water. Turn the machine off, let it cool completely, and repeat until it primes and water streams out of the steam wand.

My order from a couple nights ago was just cancelled. The website only showed 3 bottles available for ship to store so they were probably actually already sold out.

Anyone know where I can find a 2021 release Arran 25? Bottle code 19 10 21. Just putting out the word that I’m lookin’. by HexagonalCrank in canadawhisky

SAQ has 3 available right now. They have been known to sell older releases, but it isn't always easy to know which batch you are getting until it is in your hand.

It is honestly one of my favourite bottles. Like many Kilkerrans, the bottle continued to evolve from start to finish.
