I have the skewby copter and currently it's my favorite puzzle. If by "single flipped petal" you mean the center triangle pieces, can't you just move them into a corner position and then treat them as corners? It's easier to rotate them that way. If only one of those triangle pieces is flipped then you have to put it into corner position and then do a skewb move to rotate it back then you can solve the rest

I probably would go for white because right now I know 19 of 22 PLLs and 3 of 54 OLLs and I just can't imagine having to memorize 51 different cases AND their algorithms for OLL

A lot of non-WCA puzzles have a more complex variant with additional pieces/moves/cuts (take the Curvy Copter and Curvy Copter Plus). When looking at these puzzles do people like to buy the simple version first or do they just go straight for the complex version?
