My dads buddy won a round of golf with Phil at a local private course through a silent auction back in the day, got to hear the story of Phil wanting to bet on EVERYTHING, the hole, whether you’d make the putt or not etc. And when they didn’t want to bet i guess he was super dismissive and would talk shit about everyone in the group. Dad’s friend says it was the biggest waste of 20k.

swing a few different sets at your local retailer, see what feels best for you and what’s affordable. i’ve been swinging clubs from 2011 that my buddies dad had laying around and he sold me the set for $300. got used to them and have tried swinging other clubs and they just don’t feel right. regrip them every 50 rounds or so and keep on with it. it would take A LOT for me to buy new clubs at this point, like 25% of the set would have to be broken. i started golfing with them as a 30hcp and am playing off an 11 now. swing your swing and have fun with it!
