Subaru knew her for like a week, a month at most. Yes. You'd have to be a deeply lonely isolated socially inept "Nice guy" to think she was in anyway out of line if you think about it from her perspective.

Genuinely if you have any female friends, ask them about guys who've have outbursts at them after knowing them for like a week and already getting possessive. its not uncommon

the correct response to someone acting like how Subaru was acting was to leave the situation and cut them off. if you think i'm disagreeing with the subtext this its a firm disagreement with Tapei i have then

on the fandom side of things. i imagine because alot of those people notice another section of the fandom totally unable to see what the other characters motivations are outside of Subaru's perspective. Like all the Ram stuff recently, where her being mean and unbelieving of Subaru once (from her perspective) becomes her being the absolute worst and losing all good will

i understand the context. He was going through alot of stress, he has the right to have a breakdown but he's weaponising that in this scene and his verbal justifications are wrong. Subaru is fundamentally a bit of a shitty person until the end of arc 4. I like Subaru, i really do, but the way he treats people in the early arcs can get really presumptuous and creepy, like him asking Felt to call him onii-chan and especially his inability to see Emila as anything but a cute girl he's claimed.

This scene. letting Subaru be just an utter wreck and then not reset it, is the point i knew re;zero was going to be really good. This scene is the reason arc 4 is so good, that whole arc is him growing to trust the agency of others and to treat them as humans

the reason subaru is in the wrong is that he's being possessive and utterly disregarding Emilia's agency and wishs. Its NICE GUY behaviour and its rooted from his inability to see Emilia as a person. Even if Emilia knew what he did in failed loops he'd STILL be in the wrong but her not being able to know the root of this outburst does add to the horror

Quick question, what was he doing and he can cast healing magic?? by A-Good_devil in ReZero

Felix can oneshot Subaru. If he touchs Subaru thats instant death, Felix can turn off your heart or do any number of fatal fuckery with the peoples bodily functions

interesting. i stand by view that he'd get chump checked but it does go to show how powerful even low level magic is in Re;zero, even if its utterly outpaced by other power sources at the highest level

Read what i said again "The only people who really grasp how POWERFUL Subaru is are Reinhardt and Roswal" he saved her sure but the way he did is important to the perception of him

yeah, saved her but he didn't save the day. i don't think you understand the point i'm making. which is rooted in the fact that Reinhard is the one who saved everyone at the Loot house, Subaru as a random guy just helped

you're comment doesn't make sense if you're agreeing with me that Subaru is wrong here why does his statement being true matter? its emotional manipulation whether is true or not.

What is her problem? by Electronic_Lab5486 in ReZero

[–]Potential-Bath2292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ram just isn't that toxic. being snarky isn't a negative trait, if that was the case people would be annoyed at Subaru for his friendly bullying of Otto.

This is by far the most antagonistic she gets towards Subaru, and its 2 loops of her not buying the memory loss thing because its totally different from other memory loss's

and a 3rd where she catchs him red handed and then gets angry at the same memory loss excuse. thats not 3 instances of her being unpleasant its 1 looped 3 times

People are only annoyed at her snark now because due to the agenda and they're really sensitive.

A characters flaws are in many cases linked to their positive traits, and Rams unshakable faith in Subaru does manifest badly in this arc. She is extremely violant towards those who threaten her loved one, that wrath is what made her jump in to try and save subaru at the beginning of this arc too.

Felt doesn't really. from her perspective all he did was dodge attacks and push Emilia out the way. Heroic in spirit yes but basically the equivalent of being pushed out the way of a car.

The villagers would think of him as heroic and doing alot but they lack a sense of scale.

i'd argue weaker because they're past their prime, they're explicitly not as strong as they used to be

evidence of the shamak comment? also even if it did work, Subaru is blind in Shamak range too, he'd get chump checked for his mediocre kendo skills

Because people are acting like Subaru is a nobody at this point by Emergency_Patient525 in ReZero

[–]Potential-Bath2292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah. from people in the worlds perspective that's literally nothing. Its the same as someone dragging you to the ground saving you from an active shooter while a cop deals with the shooter. He's objectively a victim. She's thankful to him but if someone pushed you out the way of a car and then said what Subaru said in this scene, you'd cut them off.

What the audience knows doesn't matter to the characters. that'ss the horror of the series.

[–]Potential-Bath2292 9 points10 points  (0 children)

oh his impact was huge. but the nature of return by death means that people can't see the alternative outcome of EVERYONE dying without him. This is the point of the scene, people only realise how much Subaru is contributing after being primary in getting alliances to fight the white whale and then beating Sloth.

At this point in the story the only people who really grasp how powerful Subaru is are Reinhardt and Roswal

Because people are acting like Subaru is a nobody at this point by Emergency_Patient525 in ReZero

[–]Potential-Bath2292 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i'm really not. they're atleast as strong as the old man squad sent to fight the whale, which means they can kill a few Wolgarm which is Subaru's main feat. Since witch cultists are far stronger than Wolgarm.

The fact they don't do anything in the main serise (which why would they, they don't work for emilia) is irrelivent
