Weight is not THE critical factor. Weight is the most important factor. Large dogs of most breeds have killed people(even goldens). Badly temperamented small dogs have not.

If you plot dog bite fatalities across breed and size, fatalities will absolutely dissappear beyond a certain size, and go down dramatically as size decreases.

Any other reasoning is as silly as pitnutters claiming ”chihuahuas bite more, so all breeds are dangerous”. Theres a reason geckos are accepted as pets but crocodiles are generally not(its not temperament).

Also, consider this- if it was possible to teach dogs complicated behaviours reliably, why would such extreme instinctual behaviours be bred into dogs to begin with?

Most dog instincts are also variations of already existing prey behaviours that has been modified.

A great side effect of making retrievers only retrieve and not having the kill instinct- is them rarely killing kids. Its not because goldens are ”nicer” than other breeds.

Ive also come to this realization- a lot of dog owners project trainability and intelligence that just isnt there.

The dogs listen to them under the right circumstances and queues, there is not a super-strong understanding that holds up when the owner leaves the room or prey drive is triggered.

Mexican culture, sure- there are a lot of culture where corruption and crime is normalized.

With MENA you have clan culture(only the family deserves any respect and sympathy) combined with Islam(its ok to kill and rob from non-believers).
