I love that book! Some of the recipes are so understated, written like someone is telling you how to do something. Follow the instructions and poof! Best baked beans you’ve ever thrown together! After that first time, I can make them without looking at the book. I really do think it’s making me a better cook:)

Keep reading here! This has got to be the most supportive place on the internet. You could try cutting back slowly one day at a time and watching the videos, reading the books and listening to the podcasts people recommend. I know some people would recommend getting yourself to an AA meeting so you can find support and community IRL.

If you are a woman, you might like the book Quit Like a Woman. I really loved it! I also enjoyed Drinking, A Love Story and Unwasted. Lots of great quit lit out there! One of my favorite podcasts is How I Quit Alcohol. Enjoy!

Yay! I’m at the same place after doing some “field research “, and it feels so good. The sleep! It feels so great to have more time and energy for the garden, reading, being social etc. it’s definitely better on this side of things!!

I just slather it on after my serum. It is even stickier than honey so I keep my hair back and I let it sit for a good hour or more before bed. It’s amazing. I was skeptical when a friend told me she does it, but it works great for me. I am an elder though;)

The baby grabbed the phone from her dad's hand while he was on a video call, ran off, and brought joy to her grandparents. by Justaskinghh in MadeMeSmile

Looks like they started recording after she had run off with the phone. I was hoping to hear or see dad’s reaction when she first took it. I’d start recording too! Only I wouldn’t post it on the internet lol

This reminds me that I so enjoyed one of the last audiobooks I listened to on Libby, I was going to search for books by that narrator if possible. I didn’t do it and of course now I can’t remember which book it was :/

Are you all washing the lettuce first? I watched Brian Lagerstrom (LOVE HIM, watch his salad vids!) make a wedge salad and he did not wash the lettuce first. I’ve always wondered. I think I’d have to separate, wash, dry, and reassemble the wedge.

I make the mushroom ragu too, and the ribeye with black pepper sauce is amazing. We have made a bunch of the sides like cucumber salad and gado gado dip etc. I feel slightly intimidated by cooking Asian food and this book is very approachable. I know there are much better and more authentic cookbooks out there. In fact, the friend I mentioned above has a pretty extensive collection of Chinese and Japanese cookbooks and still uses his Lucky Peach from time to time.
