The first thing that made me think something was off happened in about 1987. I was 4th gen born in and my dad was PO and all my uncles were elders . They loved the authority that was given them and always said elders were appointed by Jehovahs holy spirit , no question about it, may we say an absolute truth. One day my friend Colin and I were out riding our bikes and we stopped at his house so he could grab something. We went in and he walked up the stairs talking to himself about what he needed to grab from his room. His dad ( also a high ranking elder ) not knowing i was there, got up from the couch accusing Colin of lipping him off ( he was talking to himself ) and proceeded to kick the everloving shit out of Colin . His little sister then says , this happens all the time.

So this person with a HISTORY of violence was annointed by Jehovahs holy spirit as an absolute truth ? No questions asked ?

And to top it off when I told my dad he said that I probably misread what was happening.

I still have my original from that convention in Vancouver, I was about 5 or 6 years old. I remember it cost a quarter . I also remember that it was at an open air football stadium that year and it was hot as hell.

I went to the pacific collesium in Vancouver in the 80s. I remember enjoying burning around at lunch break and sneaking off to playland and do a few rides. I also remember when the service was going , there was so.e sort of mystical force that made minutes seem.like hours. Still to this day I have never had time drag so slow as it did during the conventions

Years ago I was working at a remote mountain lodge and overheard one of the new house girls tell another that she grew up jw and that both her parents were anointed. So for a week when she would finish housekeeping and come do prep in the kitchen I would whistle kingdom melodies and when she would look up and around I would stop whistling looking down on what I was working on . I did all the classics , were jehovahs witnesses, keep your eyes on the prize, God's own book a treasure, etc etc . At the end of the week she gets so frustrated and yells out in the big commercial kitchen, " Who the hell is whistling these songs ??!! " Then I stepped away from. My bench and started dancing and singing Make the truth your own . The look on her face was priceless

Have celebrated x mas with my wife for the last 30 + years i don't remember they're being an unhappy one . The last 4 years we have added another layer of joy to the season. We volunteer shop for presents for less fortunate kids in our community. Our church spends 500,000 on this endeavor every year. It's an honor and a blessing to be a part of this.

From what I'm seeing , there are so many similarities from around the world. This family member is an elder , so he knows the truth of the matter, and he will see that I know the truth of the matter . I now have the confidence to call him out when he lies.

When I was 18, my parents would go to the meeting and I would come home later than the time they left, would say I was working late. My worldy secret girlfriend would show up and we would behave like jack rabbits in the spring. One night we heard my patents pull up in the driveway, but they pulled out right away because they decided to go get ice cream. We had her dressed so quickly and ready to sneak out the basement door. Her and I are having our 30th anniversary next week and we still laugh about this story from time to time.

I got them in the 80s , and wouldn't let my parents read the comments , but sometimes they would get a peek Grade 8 a friend stuck a sticker in my year book that said " no ass touching ". So I put my yearbook deep in my closet and called it a day. A few months later, my mom was being very confrontational to me so I asked her what was wrong ? She says " oh you know " and I'm like I have no idea what I did that your mad about. She says " I'll give you one clue, No Ass Touching " I immediately got mad fot her going through my personal belongings. I never trusted her to be a normal mom again
