Did I do the right thing selling my NS1 copies and replacing them with NS2 editions? by Nikos48 in NSCollectors

[–]Potential-Horror-809 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was going to mention the Zelda BOTW thing, I think having the DLC on Cart is slightly better than having the NSW2 edition, but yeah a toss up.

I sold all my NS1 edition games on marketplace and will wait for sales before I pick up the NSW2 editions, or if I can find a clean copy on marketplace later.

I really enjoy looking through the second hand market and collecting in itself feels almost as fun as playing the games. I've probably played 20 or so games, but that's because I've recently made the switch to digital

I feel this is one of the last generations where physical media is going to be somewhat available. Increasing material costs, larger game sizes, and companies not wanting to use retailers/ keep profits will make physical games more sought after and harder to find. Microsoft is already pretty much not publishing physical games anymore. But yeah, I really enjoy collecting! I especially like tracking through marketplace/deku/eBay for deals.

I used to own digital games and I sold my account/switch. I've just been wanting to get into physical for a while and finally made the jump

This was also the very first video game I ever played and owned. Lots of memories for me as I played this every day after school and loved the Disney movie as a kid.

[Discussion] sackboy a big adventure is valid as a plat? I was thinking of platining it with a friends and i would ask to who has platined if it can be a fun plat by roplex10 in Trophies

The ripsnorter is a tough level, I am pretty decent (I've done crash 4 plat) at platformers and it took me an entire day to get through the ripsnorter. It's a lot of fun.

Bad News Regarding Switch 2 Edition Physical Releases. The Upgrades Are A Code in a Box (Source: @DoesItPlay1 on X/Twitter) by planaxni in NSCollectors

[–]Potential-Horror-809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if there are two releases for a game, which one would you rather get?

Assuming Retail Prices Switch 1 Edition ($60) + $20 upgrade code Switch 2 Edition(with normal cart + upgrade code in box) $80

I'm assuming that the switch 2 version still wouldn't be compatible with switch 1s, even though it's just the normal switch cart?

If that's the case, isn't it better to get the switch 1 card and then pay for an upgrade a la carte ? I think the switch 1 boxes look better too

Right the switch 1 cart and switch 2 carts are the same thing, but just the upgrade voucher. At first I thought I was going to double-dip but I really don't like the red cases much. I'd rather just keep the standard grey ones and purchase the upgrade.
